Hi everyone! I have been reading on here for almost a month now and you all have certainly taught me a lot. Thanks bunches for that! I wanted to help by passing on some info that we have found out.

My husband goes to a pain clinic for injuries sustained in our motorcycle accident. His doctor suggested that he quit smoking and he told him that I had already gotten him going on the ecig. He had never heard of them and was very interested in them. He took some of the fluid and had it analyzed and the only thing he found was VG, nicotine and the flavoring. He said that he couldn't find anything in it that would even remotely be considered toxic.

Also, I have heart trouble. that is what prompted my best friend to bring the ecig to my attention. It took about a week for me to get approval from my cardiologist to use one. He did some research on it and thought it was a great idea and is actually recommending it to other patients to get them off analogs. Since starting the ecig my heart rate has dropped 30 points which is a huge blessing for me.

I have sent the link to our docs for the petition so they can sign also. I fugure the more them merrier!

It seems like we are getting more and more health care professionals in on this as we go along. Before my accident I had my medical assistant's degree but had never heard of an ecig, but that was over 5 years ago, not sure how long they have been around. Right now I don't do anything without my doctors' (yes, plural) permission and so far they are all in line with it and think it's great. I'm gald your doc thought so too!

My husband and my doc also loves ecigs. As a matter of fact the last time I was in he asked me if I had quit and I told him that hubby and I had completely switched over to vaping now. He told me that he was so impressed with ecigs that not only is he recommending them to his patients but he also KEEPS THEM IN TO OFFICE for his patients! Hope there are more like him out there waiting to help us in this fight.

Hi,
I found out about e-cigs on a Dr. Visit three weeks ago. Had never heard of them before that visit. They asked me, Hey you were going to quit smoking on the chantix we prescribed...I said that I hadn't. Can't recall if I ever had the script filled. As it hadn't worked previously when I tried it.

The Dr. told me about the e-cig and told me her son in law quit on the e-cig. She keyed up e-cig on the internet, I went home found the e-cig forum, found Myvaporstore had the DSE901, and haven't looked back! After 40 yrs of smoking, this worked for me, Have had 4 analogs in three weeks, and those only when my battery ran out. Been analog free for 8 days, as I always carry the charger and spare battery to work now! Just wanted to let you know that my doctor's office is where I first heard of e-cig, so that's really good. BTW, I called them back after a week, and they were elated that it worked for me, and were pleased to hear a patient calling with smoking cessation success story.

I am sensitive to the cause and I call it an 'alternative smoking device!" Best wishes to you.

I too have been to two doctors (general MD and dermatologist) in the past two weeks. I "vaped" in front of both of them and they thought it a much better idea than smoking. They both were curious about how they work and more importantly how I feel after using them for a little bit. Told both I feel better than ever - my BP was not up at all - as taken while I vaped. Good to know that BP stays at my normal level - must mean I have found my nirvana!

However, the dermatolgist still won - cut my face all up and left me battered and bruised......stitches come out this week - YEAH!

Thats great news.
I have a friend that isn't supposed to smoke due to P.D.A, thats were blood vessels restrict in his legs. I didn't know if I should mention e ciggs
to him. I don't know if it will effect his problem. Anyone out there know about Nic and blood flow. It would be great to reccomend this to save his life. It maybe the only thing to stop him from analogs. I know he will have to consult his Dr, but heads up before I mention this to him would ne appreciated. Thanks!

What a relief to see docs who are helping and recognizing the benefits! There are so many times I have seen negative reports from docs on reports who have not had more than a 5 minute brief on them and are negative from the get go. I too plan to show my doc and hope he can see the benefits, I have no doublt they have improved my heath! An on a side about chantix, I tired it and got a ridiculous headache that I can not even describe, then after a few days I lost most of my hearing???? When I went to the hospital and explained the only thing different was I had started chantix they said they doubted it was the cause, however could not provide any other reason for the hearing loss, I had no sinus infection, cold or any other symptoms (it was short lived, ended as soon as I stopped the drug). I have since read about other problems with the drug and my doc does not recommend it anymore.

While it is great to hear that so many doctors are approving, it is a different thing entirely from them sticking their necks out professionally and on the record. What they say to patients and what they stand up for as an M.D. are not always the same thing. There still seem to be too few willing to incur the wrath of the A.M.A.
Surely we will see more from the medical establishment as time goes by and it is very encouraging to hear these experiences we are having with our doctors. However, it does seem that we don't have a lot of time left until some crucial decisions will be made for us, for our own good...yeah right, by others who have seen fit to step in and judge these devices.
The time for judgement may be very soon *sigh*

Ooops...I know, I know..."don't call me surely!" :D
