OK... here's an odd question. When you are filling out forms for health insurance and at your doctor's office, what do you put down for "do you smoke?" I got a flu shot yesterday and checked no, but I didn't feel real good doing it. I vape, haven't had a cigarette since February, but I use between 18 and 26 mg of nic in my juices. Am I wrong in checking in "no" in that box? I never know what to do there.

What would you put if you didn't smoke but instead you chewed? I would imagine you would check no. I would probably make a note near the check box that I was a chewer. However, I don't smoke or chew so I would check no and make a note that I vape.

Whatever you decide to do it is probably good to tell your doctor in person that you are vaping.

Insurance is a completely different game. I would be honest with the insurance company and tell them I don't smoke. Enough said on that!

Just my two cents. :p

I would absolutely advise anyone to put NO on the smoking question - after 42 years of having to check yes, I get a thrill every time I check that NO box :) My experience has been that almost every medical form I fill out for myself or my father asks if you ever did smoke, and if so, for how long. That I answer truthfully, with only a little fudging of the length of time and number of packs smoked. I don't feel at all guilty checking the NO smoking box, as I went from 25 years of chronic bronchitis and asthma attacks to almost 1 year of no coughing, no bronchitis, no breathing meds, the one cold I got lasting two weeks instead of the usual 3 months. What truly amazed me is that the change was almost immediate, when I started vaping last November... all of that misery, gone... like magic... yet enjoying vaping more than I ever did smoking.
