When I first got my vivi nova, I didn't clean the head until it started tasting burnt. Since then, I put a new head on, but still used the left over juice from the previous tank. It still tasted burnt. So I cleaned and dry burned both heads, and also cleaned the tank itself, and put new juice in, and now it's normal.

So that got me wondering, does a bad head also contaminate the juice? If so, then I better periodically clean the head (say, after two tanks or three), rather than waiting for it to go bad, because that wastes juice.

any thoughts?

In my experience darker and sweeter juices will gunk up the coil faster than other juices. Too long between cleaning and this gunk does tend to change the rest of the juice in the tank.

I'd recommend cleaning everything at least after every second fill. Some juices I have to clean every fill or the juice turns black and tastes pretty nasty.
