Definitely!
Like a car, there's something hard to define about it - it vapes like it's happy and appreciates your attention.:D
But on a more practical note - clean contacts points reduces the voltage drop, and so it runs more efficiently. The same battery will get more voltage applied to the same coil if the contacts (all of them) are clean.

My OCD ritual. I use one Reo for a week. At the end of that week, I give it a hot bath in the sink. Clean every part. Towel dry very well. Check the contacts for any oxidation, if any, I use a white eraser. Then comes a coating of Dexoit Gold. Put it away until it's ready for it's turn in rotation again. With insanity comes the perfect vape :w00t:

Everyone knows a clean car runs better, but the question for today is does a clean well maintained Reo vape better?

Definitely, after a week of just letting the Noalox build on my LP, was getting frustrated doing all my errands yesterday morning. All day was a let down, with the vape not coming in like I'm used to. Finally around 9pm I got 15 minutes to sit down with the Reo, cleaned off the noalox, took an eraser to the positive contact and the batteries. Deoxit gold on everything. Negative spring pulled it off cleaned the noalox, put some fresh stuff on, screwed it down and added Deoxit onto the top. Boom firing perfectly again on the 0.41Ω coil on the RM8.

The juice I'm vaping on has an exorbitant amount of succralose aka wick/coil killer. Re-wicked while I was at it. Amazingness! 3yr old Reo with the BeCu upgrade and LP modded by Rob. Old faithful!

"...ready for its turn in the rotation again".
Hahaha, love it. I'm exactly the same way, with my Woodvils. My metal Reos are used more randomly. When I'm going out and about, I just grab one. But the Woodvils are rotated. All are always cleaned and ready to go, though.

All of my Reos are "on line" every day. That doesn't mean they are all used every day, they are just at the ready to be used on a moments notice as my whims dictate. So "rotation" is a joose thing, which ones I am in the mood for. I follow the KISS methods with everything to do with my Reos and all their support gear (atty's, coils/wicks, batts, etc), don't fix what is not broke, only fix what one needs when it needs it. So maybe a joose spill/leak/splatter, contacts, flush the tube/510/bottle now and then, dry burn/rewick, dust off inside and out with a brush, etc. Reo and batt contacts get the DeoxIT treatment as I feel the need comes up individually. The metals do get a full bath when I change to a new joose in them... but since I dedicate both joose and atty's to each one of them they don't see very many baths. The Woodies get wiped down and treated inside and out as needed, but I do all of them at the same time while I have the stuff out to do it. IOW, I don't fuss over my Reos... they don't need it.

Reos, the turn key mod that you gas up when needed and drive. quod oculus meus videt

For many years, I was a pipe smoker, and somewhat a collector of briar pipes. I would choose a pipe from my rack, smoke it for a day or two, and put it away, cleaned out and ready to use, the next time I wanted to use that particular pipe. Of course, nothing will ruin a briar pipe quicker, sometimes permanently, than not keeping it clean.
I take the same attitude with my Reos, although the particulars of cleaning are different. With briar pipes, the main concern is proper care of the wood, and preventing the residue of the tobacco from damaging it. With Reos, the focus is care of the electrical contacts, so that they don't become permanently damaged. Of course, with the Woodvils, periodic maintenance of the wood is also important.

Dirty is all relative. I've been working on getting my 10 cord of wood in for the winter and my Reo gets so gritty from getting bumped off stumps and shoved in a dirty pocket that I can barely get the door open. Once I had to pull up on the button to keep it from firing. But it will still vape! Gotta keep crud off the sticky air holes too. Clogged drip tip has to be blown out once in a while and I've inhaled some unknown bit of debris or ant or some other crawling bug. Makes me wonder if I've actually vaporized an insect.
Lately I've been remembering to carry it in an old hard shell eye glasses case and that helps a little.

*I know this is something we all want to think about on Labor Day, but....

...vaporizing an insect is probably no different than us eating them in our food. The FDA HAS to allow so much rodent droppings in foods that we eat. They can't control it 100%, and must allow certain percentage.

And just think, ...the FDA is the same group that wants to regulate electronic cigs. Go figure.

I cleaned both reos last night, Jeff and Frank were getting pretty dirty. Frank has the old style 510 and when I opened him up I realized there was a major problem with the metal part of the feed tube. The bottom portion wasnt screwed on all the way and that was causing the leaking I have been fighting for a few days. Also the firing pin was falling all over the place and I'm surprised it wasn't auto firing constantly. So yes a clean reo definitely performs better lol.

Well, 'clean' has two levels - clean contacts/510 (the functional bits) and clean body (the other bits). Like a car, the former is highly recommended and the latter is really pride of ownership.

So, like a '63 corvette or a '57 Porsche 356, I keep 'em nice and shiny 'cause I'm proud to have them.

I couldn't agree more, plus you picked one of my favourite cars of all time, the 57 Porsche.
