Does an ultrasonic cleaner remove all traces of flavour?

I'm going to buy an ultrasonic cleaner, a model which many other vapers use, but am wondering, will it completely remove all traces of smell of old liquids? I soaked a subtank mini in bicarbonate of soda with boiling hot water to make it fizz up. But I can still smell the old liquid on all the components except the pyrex. Not particularly strong smelling, but there nonetheless. Will an ultrasonic remove that smell completely, like back to brand new, even if it takes two or three cycles?

Problem is that supposedly you are not supposed to leave the Orings on if you use the ultrasonic cleaner. Cant remember exactly, something about it making the orings get brittle so much faster.

Unfortunately THAT is where the smell penetrates and stays. I suppose the best way to get rid of the aroma, would be to thoroughly clean the tank and replace all the orings and delrin parts.

Maybe Rubber(natural material) but not silicone seals

I never knew that silicone would not absorb. I guess there is no way to tell on the atomizers I have what the makers use. Are BUNA o-ring silicone or natural, guess I can look up. I really wish manufacturers of high end atomizers listed the O-ring sizes. Seems even other owners dont like to share. :)

I think GG ( golden greek) has full lists and diagrams.

To be honest, I seem to be able to smell old liquid on all the components of the subtank regardless of o rings, like if I put my nose right up to the tank frame or the side of the airflow base. It's as though it's permeated the paint. Also, how on earth do I remove the two large o rings inside the airflow base and at the top of the tank? I can't see how to get a grip on them easily, or at least without damaging them, particularly at the top of the tank frame where it's pretty tight.

Try vodka. Use a little for the tank and the rest for you. Then even if it doesn't get rid of the smell at least you won't care any more.

Good point :D

I've noticed no damage to o rings while using my ultrasound to clean the gunk off the coils, & the rest of the atty, & keep them in place. I believe you can do more damage removing them. It's the liquid you put in, especially alcohols, that can degrade the o rings.

Of course, if I was chasing the smell trapped under them like Danny is, they'd be off.

Sure. An Ultrasonic Cleaner can make the Metal and Glass pieces "Factory New" Clean. But what I might Do, is Damage the Seals and or Insulators. And that is Usually where they Smell resides.

Better to buy a Replacement Seal Set and keep the Old ones for an Emergency.
