I'm pretty sure it's just a lack of oxygen intake for that few seconds. It's the same for other substances that are inhaled...you don't get a "stronger" hit or a better "feeling", it's just you starving your brain of o2.

Take a deep inhale, hold your breath for 5-10 seconds, then deeply exhale. Same effect.

When you take a hit from your ecig, take a long deep breath and hold it for a few seconds, then exhale. You won't get much vapor or any at all, but that's not the main thing I'm talking about.

I feel more mellow afterwards, like a stronger nic hit or something.

I do that at work in my cubicle. Sometimes I let a little more vapor out to be a rebel.

Not true. When you take a deep breath and hold it, there is plenty oxygen on your lungs getting exchanged into your blood. You will not have a drop in O2 from holding your breath in. OTOH, if you breathe OUT and hold your breath, then your O2 will drop.

Nic doesn't absorb that quickly from vapor. The calming effect is from the pshchological effect of that we associate from our smoking days. When we were stressed and had to have a cig, that's how we hit that first drag, and it felt oh so good. :)

Na, not the same at all. I use to hold my breath for minutes at a time swimming. I'm talking about after taking a deep breath holding your vapor in for 3-4 seconds.

Tidegirl, it could be some sort of psychological effect. I don't know if it's that or more nic absorbing, but whatever it is, I can definitely feel a difference. Was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience. :)

I also meant to say, with vaping the nic is absorbed more slowly, so you don't get that immediate transmission of nic to the brain like you do with smoking. Which is why I said the psychological effect. But wither way, as long as you are getting the calming effect from vaping and not smoking, it's all good. :D
