I am sorry to Wecome you to the women's Room in this thread..but the forum is being stupid and won't let me post in your welcome thread! Please feel free to post anywhere and have fun. Also, Welcome to ECF!

I don't have IBS..at least I hope not, but I take a lot of meds for High blood pressure, diabetes and high chorlesterol. That means when I eat..get out of my way..I am off to the bathroom! It's really annoying. I am taking a trip over to Disney next month and kind of dread eatting..lots of greasy junk food there.

I can relate to that. I've spent 20 of the past 30 years having to know where a bathroom was at all times. Luckily it's been pretty much under control with meds for the past 10 years. I've heard that quitting smoking can actually help with IBS and lessen the frequency of attacks. I was curious if anyone here had found that to be true.

Thank you for the welcome.

I'm lucky enough to have it pretty much under control with the help of meds. I was wondering if anyone here who has it has noticed a change since starting to vape vs. smoking.

I've been suffering with it for about 30 years myself.

My doctor told me I had it years ago, but I think she was wrong. She gave me meds, they didn't help. Eventually, everything went back to normal...I have noticed a change since vaping though, but I expect that to work itself out too.

I have not officially been diagnosed with IBS but after researching I have pretty much figured that is what causes me to always know where the bathroom is and not shop at places that do not have one. I was going 6-10 times a day, on a bad day with maybe one solid movement in 6 months if i was lucky LOL

I tried something I have used for my dog for years. If I change foods she gets the runs, and since I prefer to feed raw, changes happen with what meat is on sale today :)
I give her a probiotic called Acidophilus, in a granual formula, I get from a holistic friend. Even tho its technically for human use, its great for her! mix it in some yogurt and its gone. If you look in the vitamin section of most stores, you can find Acidophilus in pearl type pills, I prefer these over the granual type I use for Rumor.

The bottle says: Acidophilus is a friendly bacteria found naturally in the intestinal tract. It promotes a favorable balance of intestinal bacteria and supports the healty functioning of the intestinal tract.

It is OMGosh amazing!! You really have to try it if you have IBS or any digestive stuff going on. I have friends whom I have turned on to these and they are amazed also.

There's more than acidophilus for beneficial bacteria. There are many beneficial bacterias in the gut - my daughter was having yeast issues on her fingertips and nail beds- very painful (double bass music major- torture to play with those blisters!) - anyway the doctor couldn't figure it out - hands are hard to culture - we finally figured it out and I purchased a bottle of capsules from a health food store which contained much more in the way of beneficial bacterial than acidophilus. So, if just acidophilus doesn't help maybe a trip to the health food store for the more potent beneficial bacteria is in order. Just a thought.
