Does anyone else make spreadsheets comparing prices for different vendors?

rounding third and heading home...
read the forums, watch the videos, figure out what I must have- if my regular vendors have it I buy it from them. a few dollars does not make a difference but good customer service does. if they don't have it I do a short search and get it. when I really want something I care more about the location and how long the shipping will take than if they are the cheapest. heck, you could spend hours searching for the cheapest anything, just not worth it for me. with juice it is all about taste not price anyway- besides I love WTA and that is never going to be the cheapest.....
so I guess I don't need no stinking spreadsheet.....

You must be an Accountant and yes in a way. I also factor in the cost of shipping and try to get everything I want, from that one vendor,to avoid Xtra shipping cost

Not sure if that was directed at me or OP :) No accountant here but am very .... about my spending. I don't have a budget per se; but keep track of all categories of spending in Quicken. I had a misc:alcohol and misc:tobacco category. I now have a new one called misc:ecig. To be honest I wish I would have broken it down into further sub categories...misc:ecig:juice and misc:ecig:gear. Thinking about it now I probably will do since I'm only a month into this.

I've only been using quicken since 2006; I'm guessing without looking. For some reason I get small satisfaction in graphing categories and seeing if I'm spending more or less during certain time range intervals. It might be a slight OCD issue :)

Spreadsheets??? I retired to get away from spreadsheets. Seriously, hardware is hardware. I go with the lowest price assuming that their customer service is not horrible. Juice is another matter. I've spent way too much money on low priced juice that I will never use. Now that I am settling down on 7-8 flavors that I really like, I find they are in the $8 to $10 range for 15 ml and $15 for 30 ml.

I'm in same boat as you...just starting and experimenting with flavors. I've got about 4-5 that I finally settled on buying 30ml after ordering the sampler a 2nd time just to verify. I highly suggest you get samplers while figuring out what you like. I've only come across two flavors that I'll probably trash: Ripe Banana and Sweet Strawberry but only wasted about $5 figuring that out.

In case you haven't seen it I'm keeping a list http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...cussion/458263-3ml-cheap-sampler-bottles.html I've started including 6ml as well. You can look at price per ml, selection of nic, amount of flavors, pg/vg choices, and a short personal comment of what I thought. I haven't tried all venders...maybe 3 vendors now. But I will try other vendors on next order. Probably the last post I made I'm ordering from next as it was pretty cheap.

I suppose it's just like beer or whiskey to a certain extent you get what you pay for but some cheaper stuff is just as good and does the trick. It may also be personal preference in taste. Guinness is a somewhat expensive beer here but I can't stand the taste...but others absolutely love it...so price does not necessarily dictate likeability.

I think you'll be glad you started an ecig category. It's going to be very interesting when you have enough data gathered to compare that to your tobacco category from the past. :toast:
