Does anyone know what is in a stock Protank head?

If anyone has been able to measure what gauge wire and thickness wick is used in the stock heads, I would greatly appreciate your help. I've been rebuilding them with 30 AWG Kanthal but it doesn't get hot as fast as I would like. Thinking about trying 32 gauge to replicate what came in them out of the factory.

Not sure, maybe it depends on what resistance the stock heads are. I build coils with 32 gauge, 6 wraps around 2 mm wick, and I get around 2.0-2.2 ohms. I recently ordered some 30 gauge, to try micro coils, but I haven't played with it yet.

How does the 32 gauge work for you? I've been doing 5 wraps with the 30 to get around 2 ohms. It works, but not ideally... Takes too long to warm up and then gets the whole base of my Mini PT hotter than I like. I like to zap my juice, hear some pops, feel some nice warm vapor.
Wire is cheap but due to where I live I have to order everything from the states which takes a couple weeks to get here. That being said, I'm trying to take the guess work out of it so I don't have a couple spools of useless wire laying around. Ya know? Thanks!

Are you sure you're using 30 AWG? Because I'm using 30 and 5 wraps would result in a very low resistance coil. I usually have to wrap close to 6-7 times to get to 1.5 ohms with 30 AWG wire.

Yeah, I'm sure. I usually wrap a pretty large coil, I don't like to mess with flavor wicks. Larger diameter, less wraps, same resistance. My last one with 5 wraps came in at 1.9.
