Hi,

Just curious, does anyone with experience actually prefer tanks to RDAs?

For me, I vacillate between the two, but I find myself using tanks more; ProTank 2, AeroTank and Tatroe tank. I like the simplicity and not having to carry around liquid all the time. Kayfuns are more hassle (for me) than I am willing to invest.

Do I prefer the flavor of an RDA? Sometimes, but not always. Plus, I prefer a bit less throat hit and the tanks give me that.

Anyway, this thread is not to pass judgement. It's simply a question for other vapors. :)

Carry on....

I love my tanks! I tried RDAs, but couldn't get into it - they just seemed finicky compared to my tanks. Same reason I don't use a Reo - they're beautiful, and I'm sure they're great machines, but I love the ease of a GOOD (becuase a bad one can make you want to rip your hair out) carto tank on a Provari!

I have converted exclusively to RDA's - for me: ease of use, inexpensive, no leaking, no gurgling, no spitting, superior flavor and vapor density and provides greatest vaping experience variety for me - your experience will and can vary..

For out and about I use: fastech:Magma Style Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer
Magma, Stainless Steel / SKU: 1718100 - $15.79 - awesome RDA, 22mm, with deep deep well (holds .9ml by my measurement) - dual or single coil - adjustable airflow (9 holes)

I leave the house with redundancy: two MVP 2's with two loaded ready to go Magma's and a small blue can/tube of juice clipped to my belt loop.

At home Igo L/M/W

Drawer full of EVODs, CEs, protanks II/III, kayfun lite, kayfun 3.1, aspire nautilus, tank cartomizers, etc (have given several away to friends/family) - most of them have now converted to RDAs exclusively- wasted $$$ on my part, certainly not for others.

Not a fan of clearomizer tanks. The limitation of the tiny silica wicks to adequately feed juice to the coils mutes flavors, and often causes dry/burnt hits or flooding/gurgling/leaking. These are fine for beginning vapers for their ease of use, but I expect better performance.

Cartotanks have been a staple in my arsenal for nearly two years. A huge improvement over clearomizers. Better flavor and more consistancy.

I've tried a couple of Genesis-style RBA tanks. Sometimes good, most times inconsistant. I don't like that they are likely to leak if not kept upright, so not a good out-of-the-house option. I don't like having to tilt them each time I vape in order for them to wick properly. I don't care for the taste of stainless steel mesh as the wicking medium. Cotton or silica is not an option for me in this style of tank. That's more "cons" than "pros". I'm surprised that they remain so popular.

I don't want to carry a bottle of juice everywhere I go, so a rebuildable dripper is not an option for me either. I don't want to have to add more juice after a few hits. I want the convenience of a tank.

I have a Kayfun-style rebuildable tank which is like a cartotank on steroids. It's simple to build a coil on and a coil can last over 6 weeks with dryburning with each wick change. I use cotton wicks which last 3 - 6 days (depending upon the flavor used), and changing the wick takes only a few minutes time. Just as convenient to use out-of-the house as a cartotank - great flavor, good vapor, consistant, no leaking, pocket-friendly, etc.

When I'm out and about, it's always a tank system. I bounce back between a Kayfun Lite+ and a Pyrex RSST. When I'm driving, the last thing I want to do is have to drip into an RDA. That's just an accident and a ticket waiting to happen.

At home, I prefer my RDA's. I'll use my Magma, Omega clone, or Trident clone. Each one is wicked for a different juice and I bounce between the three.

I do use a 6mg nic in my RDA's and a 18mg nic in my tanks, so sometimes I have to take a bit from one of the tanks to get my nic fix.

I bought a patriot clone a while back and intended to get into dripping....well since I'm using an mvp things didn't work out like I expected. I really do need a mech mod or a dna 30 that can give enough watts to the coils. My go to setup right now is my mvp with my ibtanked carto tank. Love it. Only problem is finding good cartos in stock....

The other tank I use when I'm out of cartos is the aspire et-s. Enjoy it but here recently the coils have been complete s***. So much so that I switched to the ibtank full time. I now enjoy it over the aspire tanks. Would like to get into rebuilding more but going to wait till I pick up a mech.

Oh and I really hate the idea of having to buy different nic strengths for dripping vs. tank usage.

I prefer RBA's over RDA's and I also do not agree that drippers necessarily provide superior flavor ... that depends on the RDA style. I have a Stillare RDA which is beautiful, and easy to build however, my Kayfun's, Taifun's, and now Squape are all better flavor producers than the Stillare. I have four RDA's and I definitely prefer my tanks over all of them.

And while Genesis styles are not for everyone, IMO a well built Gennie provides the purest flavor, to the point that some of my ADV's tasted too strong in a Genesis.

I've been quite happy with my Protank 2 and mini Protanks since last August, micro coil/cotton. I'm one of the rare ones that doesn't experience issues with theirs that isn't user error. The only thing I use a dripper for is sampling DIY juices, which is why I bought it.

Dude at the vape shop is always telling me about his RBAs. I admit they're nice, but he can buy me one if I need one that bad.

I have been using a genesis atomizer as an auto dripper. A micro coil with cotton wicking on a AGA-T2. It gives a similar vape as a dripper with the convenience of a having a tank. The drawback is you have to tilt it to keep your wick saturated, and will leak if not standing upright. It's not for everyone as an out and about setup, but works great for me.

Hi,

Just curious, does anyone with experience actually prefer tanks to RDAs?

Well I tried the dripper thing, really I did, I tried the whole dual micro-coil and cotton/silica thing, and at the end of the day my RSST was just a better vape, and I didn't have to keep dripping juice into it all the time. The IGO-W has been sitting in the cigar box for months now. I'm happy with my RSST.

I most certainly prefer a tank over an RDA -- Rebuildable Dripper Atty.

I've been a fan of carto tanks for ages but find I am using my Nautilus Clearo and Kayfun/Russian 91 style Rebuildable Tank Atty more frequently these days.

For a slimmer profile, I like my Aspire clearos on an Itaste III.

I do have a couple drippers....but I've used bottom feeders and carto tanks for so long ( available liquid supply) I simply forget to drip! They are nice for trying new flavors.
