Back when I started vaping we used 306 and 510 Joye atties with carts. Regular 510 ecigs were all the rage.
We tried all sorts of different things as filler for the carts, the 2 most popular being Pryamid Tea bags and the regular Polyfill, some used the blue foam from fish filters but I found the PTB to work the best.

Since then I have graduated to just dripping. I use RIVA batteries. I have tried cartos, dual coils, tanks, and CE2's but always seem to come back to direct dripping on my Joye 510 attys. Nothing gives me the throat hit and taste of doing it this way.

I was wondering - whats the new atty style? Is there some way I could get the joy and flavor of direct dripping without having to drip every couple drags? I know they have feeder tubes on some mods that drip on the atty by squeezing an attached bottle but I havent seen anything like that which doesnt require a bulky mod.

Just curious what else is out there.

Thanks.

Oh, I should say here that with the Vision 2.0 clearomizers... I have modded them a slight bit, removing the silicone cap and metal nipple and, with that, when I raise them to vape... the juice comes up to the point where it just might flow into the atomizer coil area... in other words, almost like dripping but you don't have to drip. I haven't played around with this enough to see how good it works but, down the road I would expect someone to come up with something along these lines. Yeah, the big advantage to dripping is no wick (I remove the wicks out of my cisco atties) and, better yet, no filler material.

Yeah, something I am still experimenting with.

306 atties are generally 'open bridge' atties while 506 atties are in general 'closed bridge' (I guess that would be the term) atties.

With the 306 atties the plastic tube that would surround them is on the mouthpiece, while on the 510 atties it is part of the atomizer. Thus, on 306 atties when you remove the mouthpiece you can look into the internals of the atomizer directly.

When I first started dripping on a 306 attie I was just popping the mouthpiece and dripping directly on the bridge/wick, and could only drip say 2-3 drops at once. But, once I got drip tips this all changed... don't have to pop anything and just drip directly into the mouthpiece of the drip tip. That is what drip tips are for.

With this, you can drip almost any number of drops into the drip tip. The only problem with that, is if you do it wrong, too many drops or holding your e cig upright too long... you can get the juice seeping out the bottom, and all over your battery and what not. This is common for those that drip (lol) and, they sell 'drip shields' for those... I have never used them but I guess they absorb the juice. With me, this only happens to me maybe once a month or so, less as you get used to dripping, and I just clean off my battery and try not to do it again.

I should say here that, when I started using lower resistance atties, and dripping directly onto the brigde/wick, it was like 'no taste'. And with just 2-3 drops in a drip tip, same thing. It was then I learned that dripping more drops brought the taste back. This was with a 1.8 ohm cisco 306 attie, delrin drip tip, ego, and PureSmoker Silver Leaf Menthol. So, I can control the amount of taste I get by how many drops I drip... and right now I an going with about 8 drops.

I still use them. I like regular resistance atties. I use a kgo, 510 atty, and a pump cart. I really like the pump cart as I can go a couple hours without refilling. I just use the dry drag method to get more juice into the atty. This really has improved my vaping, I can drive, work, etc without constantly needing to drip. I never did get a satisfying result with any cartos I have tried. I have tons of new cartos just lying around. When I get a wild hair, I will try one, but I always come back to my pump cart.

Yes! And I moved onto JoyTech eGo MEGA attys with (GASP!) carts even. These things are so frickin' huge compared to regular attys that they take all the pain out of using carts. The "type A cone" atty/cart can hold up to 1.5 ml's and the "type B cylinder" can hold up to 2.5 ml's. If you like the flavor you get off dripping, but want something you can actually vape for hours between fills you should look into these.

Here, for example: Electronic Cigarette - Atomizers & Cones - Joye eGo - XL It's the first attys on the page. If you look at the images you can see the difference between the type A cone and the type B cylinder. Either type uses a different size cart - be sure to order type B carts for a type B atty etc. There is a LR option as well. If you want to use them on anything besides an eGo threaded battery you will need an eGo/510 adapter.

Coming from someone who never found any joy with cartos these things are fantastic. :2c:

"Me too!" on pump carts for regular size attys. They are better than plain carts, but I find them a bit fussy to work work. It seems that how well a pump cart works depends on the size of the atty bridge. If the mesh bridge in the atty is too big or poorly shaped, it just doesn't seem to make good contact with the feeder cap on the pump cart. If you get a good atty/pump cart combination though it works great.

Have you found anyone else besides Liberty Flights selling pump carts?

there is the Reactor tank by NHaler, ( http://shop.nhaler.com/The-Reactor-Delrin-Tank-reacdelrin.htm )
i havent tried it but want to.
dual coil attys that hold 12+ drops,
drip shields that retain excess liquid and feed it back to the atty,
and then theres the juice boxes, as i call them. the reo, and the vmod, possibly many others.

i have a vmod and its fantastic. the attys are great. some folks even buy the vmod attys when they dont even have a vmod. the vmod 2.0 is not bulky: its about an inch and a quarter wide, 4.5 inches tall (with drip tip), and about 3/4 of an inch "deep". the only thing it lacks is regulation. you have to switch attys when its full, then pop on a lower resistance atty when the volts drop. not a huge issue, and i still prefer it this way as i prefer having at least 1 mechanical mod on hand, just to be safe.

Check out the Reosmods.com site. VV Grand bottom feeder with his new RBA (or any of your favorite 510 threaded atties) is dripping with no mess and no fuss-- all in a little tidy little box. You'll eventually save money by making your own coils and wicks. It's pennies compared to $6-$22.00 a pop.

THankfully the 3 piece ecigs were just going out when I started vaping in Nov 2010. I remember all those threads about tea bags and blue aquarium foam. Good times.
