I usually vape in the parking lot at my college, but never in class. I was curious does anyone vape in their classroom? I have a class back to back with a workshop coming up and won't be able to take a outside vape break in-between. Just curious if you do and did you ask Professors for permission or Administration or do you just pull out your PV and vape? Just wanted to see what others do.

I'm taking 15 hours a week, full time, at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. I have five classes every Tuesday and Thursday, and I only have fifteen minute breaks in-between each class. I'm there from 11:00 am to 6:45 pm. Fortunately the bulk of my classes are in the same building, so I only have to walk down some stairs and step outside to vape during my class intervals. However, heh, I always keep a Volt with me. Always. I usually bust it out of my pocket during class and "chew" on it like a pen. Meanwhile, I'm inhaling and just stealth vaping. Keep the LED hidden. Works like a charm. And another reason why vapers should re-consider a solid cig-a-like in their arsenal.

Thus far, no one has noticed, and if they have, no one has said anything.

Huge clouds of vapor would be even more distracting in a classroom than cell phones ringing. Remember, most people have never seen an e-cig in person and don't immediately think you must be smoking an e-cig. You don't want their first impressions to be bad ones. Please, for the sake of all of us vapers, don't offend people with your vaping.

That being said, yes, I have vaped in a classroom where I knew the teacher was rather laid back. I stealth vaped (hold the vapor in for a while while it dissipates and let it out slowly or take some shallow breaths to get fresh air mixing it in your lungs before you exhale). At the time my rig was not hitting very well either so I knew I was not going to be getting clouds out of it. Also I did not have anyone sitting within at least 2 arms lengths of me. Certainly don't sit in the front row and think stealth vaping won't be noticed. Also I am a grad student and I think we get a bit more respect from the profs than the freshmen and so we get away with more. When I was an undergrad I never vaped in the classroom and I knew all my teachers very well. I just felt it was disrespectful to the teacher at the time.

I can easily see classroom vaping being a big issue for most teachers. You can ask your prof for permission but I would think they would HAVE to say no just because it could offend some other student then you certainly can't vape there. I would stick to the halls and outside to be safe but if you're going to do it make sure you're away from other people, stealth vape, and try to get in the back row. To be clear I'm not recommending that you vape in the classroom.
