I am getting so fed up I'm about to start smoking cigs again after over 3 years. Thing is, I've ALWAYS had issues with ecigs. But after 3 years it's just getting old and I'm so fed up. How do batteries and cartomizers/atomizers whatever end up being worse over time? Shouldn't they be getting better??

THEY ALL LEAK. EVERY SINGLE TYPE I'VE EVER USED. Carts, attys, tanks, you name it. Like I said I've been doing this over 3 years so I feel like I've tried almost everything.

Not every single one leaks. I'll get into a certain one, and be like, this is it! Then two or three later and they start leaking. Some burn out after a few days. I always fill them and let them sit before smoking, I never sit my ecig sideways or upside down, it doesn't make sense!!!

So I got this new one that was great. $9. (Kanger EVOD dual coil) They said it would last "forever". Just change the coil. It leaked the second day. I was so ...... I threw it away. They ended up giving me another one free, so I tried again. Perfect for over a month. Now it's leaking. I have ONE good battery. HAD. I loved it! A rainbow eGo passthrough. Well, now it's RUINED. I was eating dinner, and my ecig was in it's stand. It had been like 30 mins since I touched it. I reach over to grab it, and my hand is covered in juice. It was almost full when I had set it in there, and it was EMPTY. The entire thing leaked out everywhere. It was all over the battery so I wiped it down. NOTICED THE BATTERY IS BLINKING OVER AND OVER. When I plug it in the charger, it acts like I am holding the button down. This battery cost me $40!! Haven't even had it 6 months but can't return it since it's been over 30 days. My other batteries?? One is around a month old, and I've had problems since the first week but never have time to take it back. Sometimes it doesn't work AT ALL. Other times it works just fine. Brand new Kanger EVOD passthrough that was $20. My other battery is old, and it doesn't hit as well or stay charged very long. So I'm now stuck with two faulty batteries and a few cheapo clearomizers I used to swear by that now taste like burnt rubber once you use them for a few hours.

What the hell man? Joytech, EVOD, these are name brand companies, and their products are getting WORSE over time. It's like they weren't making enough money so now they are producing crappier versions so we have to buy more stuff.

I need help bad, before I go back to cigs. What should I do? I use EGO style cigs and shop at Vulcan Vape. Should I try a different brand? A different type? A different store? What do I do???

So nobody knows of an ecig that doesn't leak?
Sorry i cant help much because I dont use very many ego tanks at all. I do have an aspire clearo that hasnt leaked on me yet and I have never really had a problem with my kanger areotank mega leaking but that sits on top of an mvp which is much bigger than an ego. Maybe look into the mini nautilus or mini areotank for an ego?

I've tried many different tanks since last year and found the cheap little CE4+ rebuildable is less prone to leakage than any other type I've tried. Unless you over fill it. Keep the liquid level under the wicks and I've never had a problem with them. I'm not too fond of the original coils/wicks though, so when it's time to replace the coil/wicks, I rebuild the original wicks with Eckowool 2mm or 3mm and wrap new coils from 32ga kanthal 4/5 wraps. It has become my favorite tank to use and you can't beat the low prices for them.

Do you happen to torque the atty down on the battery??

Honestly the only time I had an EVOD leak is when I used the stock coils. I learned to swap out the silica for cotton and that stopped the leaking for me. When I say leaking I really mean gurgling like the coil was getting flooded. It seemed to hit when I changed elevations, or went from a cold to hot location.

I understand that most folks want a simple vape and don't like to tinker with these things but there comes a learning curve just like learning to smoke without burning yourself or coughing like crazy. There also may be a tad bit of user error and it is really hard to tell without being present with you when you are having issues with your setups.

I would recommend finding someone that will rebuild coils for you or maybe do some investigating on how to do it yourself. IMO the EVOD clearomizer is the perfect unit for the average vaper ONCE REBUILT. Heck I have 5 in my rotation. The factory coils suck and for a reason... So you will buy more. Don't buy in to that dual crap especially if you have a simple battery to power it. IMO most ego twists et al can't sufficiently power a dual coil.

But to get down to the nuts and bolts as to why your kanger unit is leaking it is because most of the time the silica wicking that is present within your stock coil doesn't provide a sufficient seal to the cap of the coil unit. Without a good seal the juice has free reign to flow right out the coil base. With a cotton wick the fibers of the cotton swell and provide a much better seal in between the cap and the lower portion of the coil unit. At most I have seen a drop or two at the connection point of my battery after I have removed the tank and am ready to refill it.

I can't speak to the Kayfun users as I don't have one, but to me the most "leak proof" tank I have come across is the kanger aerotank. I purchased mine from my local B&M for $25 and it is my trusty workhorse when I am not using my RDA. I must admit that I s-canned the stock fancy pants dual coil unit and went with the EVOD single coil unit. This is not a direct drop in replacement as you need to take the silicone grommet from the dual unit and flip it upside down on the EVOD unit and put it on top of the EVOD silicone grommet that is already in place.

Like this:

Now if you must stick with the stock coils then that rubbery or burnt taste can usually be alleviated by dry-burning the coil in the evening. To do this all you need to do is remove the tank section from the coil unit. You then burn the coil with nothing on it until it glows orange. Then run it under some tap water. Do this a few times and it usually will refresh them to a certain point. I used to dry burn every night before I learned to rebuild.

Yup I have to agree. The top coilers are very leak resistant. Maybe an I-clear 16 or 30 or T2. I think all of those are recoilable. I think I "advanced" my way from silica wicks and top coilers but some my find that they fit their niche.

I would suggest a Kayfun; even if you can't afford a "real" one, the Tobecos are very nice, and not terribly expensive; I bought two of them, each for $32.95, and the only leak I've ever seen is either a) my own fault for overdoing priming the wick, but it's easily fixed by just blowing it out, or b) when I came indoors to air conditioning after 95 degree heat and humidity, there was a very minor leakage from the air hole, but it was so slight that the next time I refilled, i saw it, and it hadn't gone to the battery; I doubt it was more than a drop.

If you're not rebuilding coils yet, it can seem daunting, I remember well... but what it actually does is give you control over your own coil and your own vape, and once you have a good coil, it lasts virtually indefinitely and all you have to do is re-wick every so often -- it cuts down on the amount of fiddling and frustration by about an order of magnitude, and you're not at the mercy of crap machine-made coils that are made for quantity, not quality.

If I'm hearing LEAKING! and LEAKING and LEAKING! - combined with a plastic tank like an EVOD - the one thing that comes to mind is: what liquids are you putting in those plastic clearos? => http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ices-flavors-crack-tanks-ce2s-clearos-40.html An EVOD might have a metal shell - but the tank inside of it is plastic. Simple: Use clearomizers with glass tanks instead.

Six months run time out of any eGo class battery is actually pretty good, considering there are some really crappy knockoffs out there that don't/won't last more than a month or so. People can't have it both ways: wanting to pay "... the cheapest possible price on a..." and expecting it to last at the same time.

Ok lets get things back in perspective. Tanks leak and ciggs cause cancer. Pick your poison.

Nothing lasts for ever. What you spend on an ego battery that lasts 6 months is less than a weeks worth of ciggs.

When you are talking about leaks are they a few drops on top of your 510 connection or a pocket soaker? A drop or two coming from the airflow when it goes through the center pin seems unavoidable.
If it is pocket soakers you must be doing somthing wrong. Possibly tank cracker juice, O rings missing or damaged, or rough handleing. Lot of folks using these things with out problems, so unless you have the market cornered on bad luck, investgate and find your root cause. It may be different on each tank.

If your tank is new and starts leaking there may be a problem with the tank or with thevway you are doing somthing. Take the time to figure it out.
If your tank was fine then starts leaking further down the road maybe it is just time for a new one or maybe a small repair or adjustment is all you need.

I'm not sure if I've been replying correctly. xD I really don't get on here a lot. But yeah, all plastic. I saw they had some glass ones so I will go for that and see. :D And all my bats have lasted forever.. my pink one that's faulty now I've had for like 3 years I think. At least 2. It's the Joytech ones that last I think. But this new Joytech I got is terrible. My old ones lasted at least a year. Some I lost. xD This one messed up the first week..

It's varying levels of leaking from different ones. Some soak the battery apparently, lol.. some are just tiny drops you taste on your tongue, and wonder how bad that is since they tell you to wear gloves when you handle e-juice. xD Sometimes it clogs it up.

I use clear juice, it's 60pg/40vg. Earl Grey Tea... sounds weird, I know.

As cheap and broke as I am, this is exactly why I came to vastly prefer my $32.95 tanks over my $6 kangers -- even clone Kayfuns are miles and miles ahead of anything kanger makes, in quality. You get what you pay for, in vape quality and lack of frustration.

My $6 cartotank works tremendously -- but it's still at the mercy of the machine-made cartos, which do sometimes leak a bit, especially when it's about time to change the carto -- that particular leaking is often my way of knowing that the carto is done and needs replacing.

My evod2 hasn't leaked yet in a couple months. But my nautilus mini... I don't even screw the tank in all the way (for cosmetic reasons) and that baby is a tighhhhhht seal and so delicious. No dry hits till it runs out and hasn't leaked once. If you want a quality vape try a nautilus bvc imo.. Not a long time vaper but damn I love the nautilus.

Oh and I have a pipe mod and it's almost always on its side :D
