I am new to vaping, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.
I have an eGo and a 510 and i really love it.
My favorite juice is pralines and creme from TV. I noticed though that it started losing flavor. I figured it was the atty....but tried it in a cartomizer (2 of them), and different and new attys...and it was virtually tasteless.
I even tried dripping...and could get one or two semi-decent, but tasteless vapes, and then nothing. Tried a different flavor and it worked perfect.
Sooooo...since my bottle of pralines and creme is about a little more than half empty, i thought maybe if i shake it up it would work better. So i shook the bottle and tried dripping again and voila...back to great taste and great vapor.
Is that normal? I didn't read anything about having to shake my e-juice. What causes this?

The approximate shelf life of PG is 2 years. There are many varied opinions on the best way to keep it stored too.

I make my own juice and I keep my bulk unflavored juice stored in the refrigerator and it works well for me. I know there are many that recommend not keeping it there but I've had some in there for over a year and I've had no problems.

Keep your liquid in a dark and not too warm place, that should be sufficient. Fridge of course is not bad if you have room in it.

What you are experiencing, though, sounds more like a very common problem at the beginning: Tasteless hours; my longest was two days. It's probably because of recovering tastebuds, but many people experience, especially in the beginning, hours and sometimes days where they can barely taste any vape at all. It goes away on its own, and stops completely after a few weeks.
Also, you can over-vape a partiular flavour. If that happens, you are so used to it that you can hardly taste it at all. You just need to switch to a different one until you can taste it again, nothing more.

Juices have been known to, on occasion, separate a bit. Your taste buds might have gotten used to the juice too, which could explain why after trying another of your juices it tasted normal. The other possibility was also touched on earlier, but it does take time for your tastebuds to heal from cigarettes.

I, as an interim measure, shake my juices before dripping/filling after they sit overnight..

... I was considering buying a liter or two of 54mg juice for blending.. but i will have to store it for a year or two...

Hey BetterBob :)

I have no idea what your experience level is, and I apologize if this sounds condescending, but...

2 liters is a big purchase! Have you done much DIY before? If you don't have a lot of experience buying/using the high-nic stuff, it may be better to start with a smaller amount. That way, you don't have so many eggs in one basket (and those are some expensive eggs!).

My first purchase of high-nic turned out not to be exactly what I wanted, but fortunately for me it was only a small 30 ML bottle. Shortly after that purchase, myfreedomsmokes.com had an amazing sale on the stuff (something crazy, like 40% off!). Since I hadn't bought a ton of the other stuff, I was in a position to take advantage of the sale, AND I had a better idea of what I wanted.

I would urge anyone considering DIY to buy smaller quantities at first, from a couple of well-regarded vendors, and sign up for their newsletters/mailing lists. That sale price saved me over $100.

Agreed with the palette getting used to the flavor, esp in the beginning. Next week will be my one year mark for vaping/quitting cigs and until abt 2-3 months ago, I would have days where NOTHING tasted like it was supposed to. Now that issue has resolved itself.

As far as juice going bad. Yes, it can. Some homemade (not factory made) juice uses natural ingrediants without preservatives and I have had a few go bad, BUT they were in my "go everywhere" bag, left in the sun, car, etc.

My fav storage place for juices in bulk or ones I wont be using alot is the fridge. I have YET to have ANY juice stored in the fridge go bad.

I have learned for the days I want to take a few flavors, to take smaller bottles and do like 5-15ml batches for on the go and leave the better part of it safe in the fridge. Also, ejuice straight from the fridge always seems to taste better. I used to also keep my carton of smokes in the freezer tho....a fresh menthol smoke straight from the freezer was always the best IMO.

I non longer keep 10-15 30ml bottles in my bag, as some of my fav's went sour on me....

After reading this thread, I'm beginning to wonder now if I should take that spare bottle of juice out of the compartment of my car. My dark green car, that gets several hours of sun every day. Of course, it's Marlboro juice, which has always tasted like burning dirt to me, but it's also from my very first order, back in January.

Ive never had issues with dekang goin bad, but if its from somewhere usa made, you MAY wanna check it ;)

Also, another thing to do to be all set on those "I forgot my head" days, is when you get a new batch of juice, switch that bottle out so its always rotating.....If its in the glove box, at least its dark lol...it may be ok! But checkiong it out and rotating it would prob be ideal
