So I've been vaping mainly fruit / sweet tobacco flavors for several months. I recently kicked my nic down to 11mg from 24mg and wanted a little bit more TH so I switched over to menthol. Vaped in my vivi nova for a few days, till a hairline crack appeared...i thought it was me being clumsy dropping it sometime so I got a CE4 and another nova...filled up both with different brands of menthol happily vaping. The ce4 started oozing juice out the side while i was driving . The vivi nova did the same on my desk while i was in class.. After looking closely both developed cracks where the juice was coming out. The question is does menthol crack tanks??

I guess it depends on the juice. I use a variety of menthols, even the extremely strong Arctic Wolf, and it hasn't bothered CE4's or my plastic tanks at all. Possibly another component of that brand? Otherwise it may be that the cracks were developing over time and they didn't really show up until some juice leaked out.

X T C, is it possible you don't have genuine Vision Vivi Novas? I've been vaping various menthols, including my DIY which is so strong that ice crystals form in my sinus passages, in Vision Vivi Novas for months. One of my Vivis has had more than 150 ml. of menthol e-liquid run through it with nary a cracking problem.

Not known menthol to crack polycarbonate. Is there any other flavor in that juice?

A relatively up-to-date list of flavors known to crack polycarbonate is in this link:

For a description of juice delivery device that are safe to use with the crack-causing flavors, follow this link:

Since yours cracked, it appears you answered your own question (and enlightened me) ;) So many juices I like are iffy that I use mostly gear I know is safe. I still have quite a few CE4s, but I won't be buying any more.

It's not a vision vivi nova, it's the Smok Tech Vivi Nova Slim from MadVapes.

I checked the reviews section on the MadVapes website. A couple of reviewers mentioned really fast cracking using cinnamon in these Smok Tech Vivis. I don't know if that would also indicate a similar problem with menthol.

I also see the heads aren't compatible with Vision Vivi Nova heads, which might be a problem in the future (MadVapes is also out of stock on them right now).
