does nic level affect the taste?

speaking of after taste... what causes that?
do i just need to let it steep longer?

I normally vape 18 mg/ml, but occasionally vape 24+ mg/ml. I notice a stronger throat hit and a light tingle on my tongue with 24+, but no noticeable difference in taste/flavor.

Unfortunately, there is no definite answer on the subject.

You will mostly get people's opinions based on the experiences they've had.

In my case, I can say that the flavor of some juices change based off the nic strength. I notice it being less apparent with stronger flavors (Boba's, RY4, dessert flavors) than with fruitier flavors.

When I vape Pinkspot's Pinkspot in 6mg it taste the way I expect it to..fast forward to a time when I accidentally ordered it in 24mg and I couldn't vape the stuff comfortably (and I vape most juices at 24mg). Be it that the throat hit is jarring and not pleasant with a fruit vape or that the nicotine really does punch through weaker flavors, it is something noticeable to me.

It's subjective, but in my opinion nic strength can change the flavor profile of some juices. I just don't notice a change with stronger flavored e-liquids, though.

Nic does change some flavors depending on the juice you are using. For example, my friend and I make the same juice that I gave her the recipe of. Hers is at 24 mg and mine is at 8 mg. She always says mine tastes better. It seems sweeter than hers. I have noticed nic has a slight peppery smell/taste somewhat by itself so yea, I would assume it does change some flavors and the less you have, the sweeter your juice might be. But then again, I also would think if you have a juice that's tart or maybe a fruity type, it might not be as noticeable. I think it depends on the flavors you use with it.

Ok cool. I like the sweeter juices... Even my menthols i just upped my nice level from 12 to 18 and i dont get that sweetness on my tongue..

Are we assuming that all nicotine is the same and tastes the same. I don't buy it very often and don't know if there are differences in taste or quality.

Maybe I'm crazy but I seem to notice that flavs def change with dif nic level's
I find a good nic level to be 12 mg I've upped to 18 and find it effects the flav by making it a little harsher and peppery
more so with fruity flavs but I do notice it to some degree on all flavs although that may work in the advantage for certain flavs

but for 1, I loved halo Tribeca at 12 mg but hated it at 18 mg

Likewise I find when I go down to 6mg flavs don't seem to be as strong
Sometimes just flat

I use KAL brand pure liquid stevia that can be purchased at any vitamin/whole foods type store. I would start out with no more than 1 drop per 10 ml. It also helps to tame the harshness of some juices. Use too much and it will mute the flavor. It also tends to gunk up the coils much quicker than normal. Not a problem for me as I rebuild mine.

Yes to all of the above, the more nic, the more it will change and in my opinion, not for the better.

The after taste is the VG I presume..this is purely my own non scientific opinion, but I know a vegatable oil type taste when I 'flim it up".....kinda nasty.

Different brands / sources of Nic can have different taste and so can the PG or VG it is diluted in. Remember that 100 mg per ml isthe strngest Nic whchwe canpurhase which is in fact only 10% Nic and then we dlute it down with more PG and Vg and flavoring which have PG ,alcholol perhaps VG andother addative in it.

Some who are really into blends with numerious undertons feel that if a change is made as to Nic, PG or VG supplier they have o fine tune their mixs again which is perhaps why many stay with a proven source instead of looking for the best price.

By the way OP, you can pick up a bottle of TFA sweetner for 1.50 plus shipping at wizard labs. a drop or two in a 30 ml bottle should do the trick, if not, add another drop and check it out....you know, trial and error.

But really, I would pour some of your juice in a 5 mil bottle to test it so you dont ruin your 30ml bottle, or whatever you have on hand.

Also, cotton candy is the same as sweetener. Not circus cotton candy though. Or like Thunderball said, there's sweetener also. I have alot of cotton candy so that's what I use. And I've heard many great things about Stevia but I haven't tried it myself due to so much cotton candy I have. lol.

Most of the answers here seem to think that there is at least some change in flavor with the addition of nicotine. Personally I haven't noticed any. Hence the question about different brands. I do notice more hit with increasing amounts of nicotine. After about 12mg of nicotine the hit starts to overwhelm the flavor but I can't that it actually changes it. In other words I notice the hit more than the flavors. This is more noticeable with fruit flavors than stronger tobacco flavors.

I have at least one juice I've tried at more than one nic level for which this is definitely the case: the 11mg juice I originally purchased tastes different from the 0mg juice I later purchased to cut it with. The latter seems a little tarter and not as spicy.

There's also a harshness factor for me. With higher nic juices I am more likely to experience a "burned" sensation on my tongue and throat, as if I ate something too hot (temperature hot, not spice hot). I think of it as a mild chemical burn.

I'm sure experiences vary from person to person, though.

I vaped 12 mg Gorilla Juice and it had a strong throat hit. Went to 6 mg for my next order and there was a HUGE taste difference. I have heard rumblings that the flavor for boba and GJ have been out if whack lately too and my second order came in between the rumor period so maybe that has something to do with the flavor, but definitely different.

In all seriousness, are you speaking about one vendor or all? The only liquid I have ever had that was better at lower nic percentages than high nic, out of the 700+ I've tried, was Gambit from 5 Pawns.
