Hi guys, now that we have established sgvapers as NOT an illegal gathering of smugglers.... May I present a little cut and paste information to remind us why we would rather vape than smoke analogs?

Does Nicotine Cause Cancer
Nicotine does not cause cancer, it is a stimulant similar to caffiene and is the most addictive component in a traditional cigarette. Nicotine is the main reason why it is so difficult for a smoker to quit tobacco. The clever things about an electronic cigarette are that it delivers nicotine whilst also simulating the same actions and feelings of smoking, effectively satisfying a smokers craving, without delivering all the cancer causing deadly toxins which have such a negative impact on the smoker and their families lives. We know of at least 4000 toxins that are in tobacco.
Below is a list of just a few of the toxins a smoker inhales with every single puff.
Carbon Monoxide - long term intake of small levels can cause heart disease.
Tar - Used for roadworks, sticks to your lungs and causes lung cancer.
DDT - An insecticide that was eventually banned, becuase it also causes cancer.
Acetone - This is usually found in nail polish remover.
Butane - You can find this in your lighter fluid.
Cyanide - A deadly poison. .
Ammonia - A bleach, the smell is awful and overpowering to the senses.
Benzene - Found in synthetic rubber and is used to make dye products.
Arsenic - Another deadly poison that is often used to kill rats.
Formaldehyde - An embalming fluid used by drug users to get high.
Naphthalene - Mothball ingredient.

really wonder why our garment would ban e cig. probably because of the tobacco tax.

Quite a few things actually. None of which is the official explanation, I simply don't buy it. The official put forward by KBW the then minister of health is that ecigs would encourage underaged people to experiment and finally lead to smoking analogs. He was hypothesising in the wrong direction. Usually analogs come first and then we go to ecigs when we get older and more worried of cancer.

This is the amount of knowledge that ecig non-users have. That is why this site is important to us. Share the knowledge freely guys.

Vape on.

The "FINE" place
Is there any way to actually educate the affected Ministries or the public regarding the safer alternative of inhaling vapor instead of analog smoke, without putting ourselves within an arms reach of the law around here?

I mean there is the traditional media. Vapers could write in often with little bits of information on vaping. Only problem i can see is whether they would want to print those out or not.

Or can a petition be introduced to encourage the govenrment to do some kind of tests. I mean we have the A*Star facility here which i am more than sure is capable of doing some simple tests showing the contents of ejuice being safer for inhalation when compared to traditional tobacco cigarettes.

There is also the Speakers Corner....but i doubt getting anyone would listen even if you manage to get approval to bring out your points there..Haizz so much for freedom of speech here lols..

But i am still hoping there would be changes in the future regarding vaping. Our neighbors up north had some very interesting moments when their government tried to ban e-cigs. Though it is close to the election period of the country so extra votes do count it seems.

Sometimes there is no point talking to cows yah? Cows are stubborn, stupid and cannot be taught. To make a cow move where you want it to, you use dogs and horses to influence the whole herd and the cows will come along nicely.

Educate yourself, educate others, support the major efforts in the states and the UK, and the cows will turn around..... hopefully.

but i do believe nicotine does not cause cancer, but is it still harmful to our body?

The LD50 of nicotine is 50 mg/kg for rats and 3 mg/kg for mice. 30–60 mg (0.5–1.0 mg/kg) can be a lethal dosage for adult humans.[6][70] Nicotine therefore has a high toxicity in comparison to many other alkaloids such as ......., which has an LD50 of 95.1 mg/kg when administered to mice. It is unlikely that a person would overdose on nicotine through smoking alone, although overdose can occur through combined use of nicotine patches or nicotine gum and cigarettes at the same time.[7] Spilling a high concentration of nicotine onto the skin can cause intoxication or even death, since nicotine readily passes into the bloodstream following dermal contact.[71]
Historically, nicotine has not been regarded as a carcinogen and the IARC has not evaluated nicotine in its standalone form or assigned it to an official carcinogen group. While no epidemiological evidence supports that nicotine alone acts as a carcinogen in the formation of human cancer (on the contrary, a mechanism of urinary excretion of nicotine metabolites was identified as the link between smoking and bladder cancer [72]), research over the last decade has identified nicotine's carcinogenic potential in animal models and cell culture.[73][74] Nicotine has been noted to directly cause cancer through a number of different mechanisms such as the activation of MAP Kinases.[75] Indirectly, nicotine increases cholinergic signalling (and adrenergic signalling in the case of colon cancer[76]), thereby impeding apoptosis (programmed cell death), promoting tumor growth, and activating growth factors and cellular mitogenic factors such as 5-LOX, and EGF. Nicotine also promotes cancer growth by stimulating angiogenesis and neovascularization.[77][78] In one study, nicotine administered to mice with tumors caused increases in tumor size (twofold increase), metastasis (nine-fold increase), and tumor recurrence (threefold increase).[79]
The teratogenic properties of nicotine has been investigated. According to a study of ca. 77,000 pregnant women in Denmark[citation needed], women who used nicotine gum and patches during the early stages of pregnancy were found to face an increased risk of having babies with birth defects. The study showed that women who used nicotine-replacement therapy in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy had a 60% greater risk of having babies with birth defects compared to women who were non-smokers.
Tobacco use among pregnant women has also been correlated to increased frequency of ADHD. Children born to mothers who used tobacco were two and a half times more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD.[80] Froelich estimated that "exposure to higher levels of lead and prenatal tobacco each accounted for 500,000 additional cases of ADHD in U.S. children".[81]
Effective April 1, 1990, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) of the California Environmental Protection Agency added nicotine to the list of chemicals known to cause developmental toxicity.[82]
