Does nicotine level have any impact on flavor?

So I just tried out a 100% PG juice and the taste difference from my usual juice (100% VG and 50/50 PG/VG) is amazing, my previous juices lacked flavor. Either way, I want to maximize the flavor I get right now and was just wondering if the nicotine content of a juice has any effect on the flavor, also would a 70/30 PG/VG juice taste close to 100% PG or would I notice a pretty big difference?

to ecf razylich. So glad to have you here. The answer is a definite yes from me. I just increased my nic from 18 to 24 and it is stronger in flavor to my taste buds. I'm thinking I will make some 36mg on my next. I normally make 50/50 pg and vg mixes but I have tried playing with the percentages. I did not notice the change to 70/30 at all. I no longer buy juice but here is a thread I use to check daily to find good deals.

Good luck to you and happy vaping.

As stated above, nicotine by itself has a "peppery" taste, so it adds that to effect to the main flavor. Drop the nicotine level and you'll enjoy more of the main flavor and not be influenced as much by the pepper taste of the nicotine.

It is the nicotine which causes the "burn" or "throat hit" sensation when you vape.

When I purchased juice, I'd get 50/50. Now that I'm making, I'm probably closer to 60p/40v because I simply add 50/50 to my flavor base. I have some 70p/30v and even tried 80p/20v. I don't care for the higher PG. I add my nic only when I fill a tank, and I will get that peppery sensation. I don't add nic to my DIY because I don't like the oxidation/muting that occurs over time. IMO that seems to keep the flavor brighter, even though I'm using a fair amount of VG.
