Hi, I've been lurking for several months now, and finally signed up.

Yesterday was a particularly hot day, and I noticed a number of my recipes tasting significantly watered down.

Just wondering if excessive heat, 27 or 28 Celsius, (76 and above in the US) may have caused this. Do the flavour molecules decide to fall apart or something on hot days?

The vg gets thinner with heat h may just need a good shake. Shake it up well when you get it to a cooler area. It won't hurt it at that temp. (Speaking from Texas where 76 is almost chilly as opposed to the 109 it's been for weeks now.)

Another thing you might be experiencing is actual flavor loss. Taste can come from more stable molecules and compounds (like vanillas, custards, and tobaccos); as well as less stable (volatile) molecules and compounds (like fruits, and florals). The volatiles are more susceptible to heat through evaporation. If you have significant amounts of air space (aka. headspace), and/or soft rubber eye-dropper caps, and/or leaving your bottles in particularly warm conditions (in the car, or near an un-shuttered window); you very well could be losing the more aromatic notes.

If the e-liquids you vape, are normally very fragrant each time you open the bottle, chances are good that they have a fair amount of these volatiles in them. The warmer your e-liquid is; the faster they will off-gas. Combine that with easy escape routes (bad fitting lids, soft rubber, and excess headspace), and the flavor will quickly go away, or become out of balance because some flavor notes are dissipating, while others remain behind. I would expect this to be the problem if the flavor doesn't bounce back once you return it to cooler temperatures.
