Does the ammount of Nic. effect the amount of flavor in juice?

I have been going all over to local shops that allow flavor testing and have noticed
almost all of them use 0 Nic for samples ( understandably )
But my issue is that when vaping these samples I can hardly taste anything, then when I buy
something and get it home the flavor is extreme in comparison, and several times has been
not even close to what I thought it was from the sample.
I am using between 18 - 20 Nic strength.
So does the Nicotine enhance the flavor or is more flavor used with the higher nic levels?

I am mainly using a vision twister set to 3.8V with a kanger T3S.

A bigger factor is the fact that your coil and battery power are probably in better shape that the lowest priced models usually used for sampling. Take your battery and ask if you can put their sample clearo on it to sample...turn it up to about 3.8-4V and you'll probably get a much better true indicator of the flavor you'll get from your setup. I seriously doubt that all of their tester batteries are fully charged and as long as the clearo is producing some vapor, they're probably not taking the time and trouble to clean and dry burn the coils daily (or weekly!). ;)

My experience has been that if I vape iquids with a nic level of 18% or higher, I notice a change in taste. The best way I can describe it is like a peppery/harsh flavor which I don't find enjoyable. This is completely different from a dry hit. My preferred nic level is between 6-11%, so those high octane juices blow me out of the water.

Iron Sheik nailed the question right on the head. The nicotine has a peppery flavor that reduces sweetness and at times mutes flavor. The nicotine flavor can be enjoyable to some while others will think it is harsh. Some flavors taste better with nicotine and some taste worse. Finding that perfect flavor is always interesting and can be complicated.

Nicotine at higher levels does in fact do the opposite of what you describe the flavors is world better at lower nic levels that's why they use 0mg to sample get you a good rba and then see if you like your nic higher I've got like 8 bottles of high mg juice and its for when I just don't have nothing else once I tasted 6mg I'm never going higher again

A month ago, I bought a bottle of OmegaVape Breeze flavor, tastes like cantaloupes. The tester was at 6mg and I bought 18mg. It was alot harsher using my ego-C twist and clearomizers than in the shop. Noticed now that the ejuice has changed from clear to well cantaoupe color and it's much milder. My bottle probably needed to steep some more I guess. Plus you are hitting it harder with your Vision then the shop's tester battery.

I agree with the above. The higher the nic the more the taste will mute, but the lower the nic the less throat hit.

I started around 12 mg per ml, found that it wasn't necessarily adequate to kill all my cravings, so I bought a few bottles of 24 mg in my favorite flavors. That did the trick, but flavor is definitely compromised a bit. If you feel you need to go with a high nic level definitely do so with a strong flavor that will cut through the nicotine.

On the other hand recently I wanted to try bringing my nic level down so I got a few bottles of my favorite flavors in 6mg. No bueno. Almost no throat hit, so I bumped back up to twelve where I was happy with the flavor and the throat hit.

There are other ways to simulate throat hit, but I'm not messing with that just quite yet, I enjoy my nicotine.
