Does the GGTS work better with higher VG content? Or do I? :D

Hey guys!

Got my GGTS today! Since I only bought very few liquids (that were all PG) I tested it with PG only.
Suddenly I remembered I have a huge bottle of VG for my Shisha!

So I just mixed 5 drops of cherry PG juice with 3 drops pure VG and this is what I noticed (sorted from most obvious to me down to least):

- more vapor
- a smoother and less pronounced throat hit
- "better" taste, pure PG seems to be "harsher" to me, with VG it tastes more like I imagined vaping to taste like, if that makes any sense
- exhaled vapor is cooler
- the drops dripped in the atty seem to last a tiny bit longer than PG only

So I guess my question is this:

In your experience, does the GGTS work better with some VG added? Or is it just my personal preference?

Its just personal preference, and it depends on the atty, voltage, resistance ect. I dont think the ggts works better with one or the other, as it is a mod that delivers X amount of voltage, just like other mods.

Sorry, completely forgot to mention that! Those tests were run at 3.7 Volt, low res (1.7) 901 Atty...

EDIT: Update! Just tried 100% VG without anything else...

- silky smooth!
- none of that weird aftertaste I had with the PG based juices...

I think I'll become a VG-based vaper, like inquisitorj... ^^

Yup different strokes for different folks, I have several 100%vg juices that I vape and they have good throat hit, some even have great throat hit but with others I find that I need that pg blend to get the throat hit satisfaction that I crave. If pg gives you a weird aftertaste then maybe just vg is what you should use but if the pg juice that you are using to compare is chinese juice then maybe try another vendors pg blend. Not saying that is the case as I do not know what vendor you are using but I have tried both pg and vg juices that have had weird aftertastes.

Plus 1 for what Ata said. I am getting into more VG use myself but different flavor extracts can definitely become muted in a high VG content. As already said, this isn't a mod issue but is a flavoring issue.

I may be completely off the mark but I think that is becoming a focus for users not just as to taste itself but what the flavorings themselves are made of. Not a lot of data to feel 100% confortable with unknown components making up the flavors.

I do know that what was my go to for months has become a side show since I watched it literally eat the tubing of a small tank mod. It was my beloved Atomic Cinnacide but anything that will eat plastic and peel paint can't be good for your lungs I don't think. :?:

I developed what would best be described as an allergy to PG and now only use 100% pure organic VG & Flavorings @ 26mg... this is vaped using iAtty @ 1.3 to 1.5ohm coils with Kanthal A 34 or 32 gauge and Sterling Silver NR wire & crimp beads using Nextel Ceramic Sleeving... I am for lack of a better word a Happy Camper with this set up but as far as juice is concerned and keep in mind I am a coffee flavored vaper which is generally a dark colored juice and quick to clog coils which is why I prefer to make my own not only for cost reasons but also knowing exactly what goes into my coil and wicks... but I have found that VG produces a smoother, cooler & thicker vape than I got with PG as well as a much better flavor... I also found that PG had an aftertaste... so bottom line for me is VG ALL THE WAY...

Hi MrKrinkle! Would you mind telling us what flavorings do you use? I have started to moving toward higher VG liquid. making VG nicotine liquid is not problem but flavorings seems PG based is common for many company.
I'd really appreciate if you could give me advice on this. Thank you!

Well Smalls I am all about coffee flavors and enjoy all of Vaperite.com coffee flavors... Todd is great and his organic line IMO is delicious... I know you can buy just the flavorings from Vaperite as well if you prefer to mix your own but I just buy the pre-mixed flavors... My favs in order are Kona Cream, Cappuccino and Double Espresso... the only downside to coffee flavors is they tend to clog coils rather quickly and are best suited for use with iAtty for cost reasons as it is much cheaper to rebuild a coil for the iAtty than it is to burn through store bought atomizers... I hope that answers your question and if you need anything else feel free to PM me if youd like...
