To me it can. Depends on the juice. And it depends on what you want. If you want plumes of vapor, go with a higher vg. A much sweeter vape too. But if you seek a throat hit like a cigarette, the higher pg will achieve that. I sort of like the 50/50 myself. Best of both worlds. Good luck to you and welcome to ecf and a new alternative obsession.

And..........the same flavors at totallty different vendores can taste way different. Just my :2c: You have to experiment and try and try and try.....but when you find that juice that makes your tastebuds dance, well it is all worth it.

It'll take a little time to discover what you like best. Vendors like Velvet Cloud that only make VG liquids are great for clouds, however may be a bit muted in flavor. Heavy VG liquids might also wick differently in your setup because it's pretty thick and can gunk up coils quicker. Your mileage may vary, however I personally prefer 50/50 ratio for the best of both worlds.

I have tasted 100% propylene glycol (PG) and 100% vegetable glycerine (VG). So long as it's pharmaceutical or food grade stuff it's safe to taste a few drops. (Just not large amounts, ie don't drink millilitres of it!). To me a drop of VG on the tongue tastes pleasant and just like real honey! On my tongue a drop of PG tastes sweet but has a chemical taste to it. It's tolerable but not exactly pleasant or tasting like sugar or honey. That having said so far I'm choosing to go with mostly high PG e-juices since I've not noticed any unpleasant chemical taste once it's in a premixed good tasting flavour.

Other reasons that make me stick to the higher PG e-juices so far is because it's thinner (not as viscous) as VG and should hopefully wick better and not gunk up my coils as much. Also there is much debate that PG e-juices seem to deliver the nicotine quicker (more throat hit) and VG.

You can buy these surprisingly cheap in bulk to play with or to dilute your e-juice if it's too strong. You could even use them as the main base to make your own. Just make sure you get BP or USP grade (pharmaceutical grade).

I'm doing my first online order for juice and it has different ratios. My first 2 were from a smoke shop and I didn't think to ask the ratio. My third bottle was from another shop and it was 50/50 but tasted muted compared to the other two. So is it the brandor the ratio? What ratio do you prefer?

Does pg/vg ratio affect flavor: yes.

Brand or ratio: probably both.

What ratio do you prefer: I tend to use high VG;
I recommend starting with 50/50. The same eliquids can taste very different on different hardware.

I've found I started diluting juices with unflavored 70%vg/30% distilled water mix. Maybe its my taste buds coming back? but everything tastes too strong and perfume like to me.

I started out using 70pg/30vg, now if i even try that out of a vivi it makes me choke to death as well.
I also find the larger amount of vapor more satisfying

Oh the mtbaker juices could do with steeping, but I find the flavor too strong in everything lately. I would hope the liqua fluids didn't need more steeping after 3 weeks in the mail and a month before getting around to tasting =P

my all day has been diluted hangsen 555 lately, on the rare times I crave something fruity I have 50ml of DIY stawberry kiwi vg based.
every DIY juice my brother makes tastes like carpet fresh to me.

Be aware that the ratio of PG/VG can be tolerated differently by people.
Some people never notice either way.

Personally, PG makes me cough so I went to 50/50.
My son prefers 70/30 because VG makes him gag.

I really hate coughing or puking.. so I played with the mix till I found what works really well for me.
Your mileage may vary.

I started with 80pg20vg blends... It was great until I had to change due to a PG allergy. Now i'm on max VG blend and the biggest difference is

PG - Gives you more flavour, generally considered the better one that holds flavour, and gives you the throat hit
VG - Tastes sweeter, producers much more vapor and bigger whiter vaper

I personally prefer all VG blends but everyone is different just explore :D
