Does the regular REO only output 3.7 V?

I understand there is a variable voltage REO, but for the regular REO, do you just vape at 3.7V only? I don't think there are any electronics in the regular REO.

I'm also considering the VV REO. Obviously, one of the main selling point of REO is its sturdy construction. However, with the VV, there will be electronics and I wonder if it's all aluminum as well? Or are the electronics in a plastic housing?

The VV appears to be all aluminum, housing included. And you're right - there are no electronics in the regular Reo.

Fully charged batteries start at 4.2 v not 3.7v although I don't know exactly what the voltage drop is. But that why lots of Reo users wrap coils from .8ohms to 1.5ohms. It produces a very satisfying vape until the battery gets below 3.8v.

Fresh charged batteries are 4.2 volts. Most people swap batteries when their battery voltage hits 3.7 volts due to decreased performance.

BTW, since coil length is pretty much fixed, you just buy different gauge kanthal wires to vary the resistance right?

I usually run a 1ohm coil, sometimes 0.8

Most people just find their sweet spot and build that same coil. If you feel the need to change the resistance then you could either add/remove wraps, change your coils diameter, or you could have several gauges of wire to choose from.

Coil length is variable. I have run micro coils (small inside diameter coils) anywhere from 8 wraps up to about 13. I typically run 10 wraps).

I use different gauge wire to get to the resistance I want with 10 wraps. 29 ga is my fave cause it puts me right at about 1.4 ohms with 10 wraps.

Here's a little chart:

I have a VV grand and on it I'll run some long coils - 13 wraps or so cause I can kick up the power to compensate for the higher resistance.

On my mech REOs, I run the 10 wraps
