I know the REO is known for its durability. I am looking to add a new device to my collection but its got to be tough and reliable. But, I need it to be variable voltage. It looks like the Reo VV operates using a wheel type knob. How does the VV compare with the plain Reo as far as being durable. I don't make a habit of dropping my mods but its been known to happen. I would be using it mainly with plain old fashion cartomizers or HH57 atomizers. Thanks in advance for any input.

My VV Grand is my out and about device and has been for a long time now. Only reason its not my 'at home' device anymore is because high wattage (sub ohms/mechs) has ruined me a bit and that tends to be my preference when I can be bothered to deal with a big tube and manual dripping

I have inadvertently dropped the VV grand multiple times and it has a few battles scars on it for sure, never had an issue. After Rob replaced the button for me (not my doing, just a button issue) I dropped it on the concrete real nice…still working flawlessly.

I don't have a mech Reo yet as I'm waiting for the pin upgrades, so I can't make a fair comparison I suppose. But I just wanted to offer my rugged experience with the VV Grand. The thing is truly a tank.

I've had my VV grand for nearly a year and I use it every day. Every time I press the button it does it's job. It is just as durable as a grand IMO.

Except that you don't want to get it wet because of the chip.

Everyone should own atleast one :)

Here's mine next to my grands :)

so grand = 18650 vv grand = stacked 18350 right? hows the grand compare to the vv grand? talk me through this a bit... pretty sure that im saving up for a grand lol... love the mini... definitely know that while the reo is going to work, well i need another reo to have a back up... and the mini is awesome but the grand just makes more sense for at work... and out and about... figuring out how im going to use my budget to sustain slightly but dedicate the most of the budget to saving for the grand... xD im so excited... loving it!!!

i lost myself in this a bit... my Precious distracted me... lol

To me the VV is like getting a notoriously reliable car (like a Honda Accord or something), but getting it with all the luxury options. Cost a little more, has more features and because of those extra features a few more things that could break... But it's still going to be pretty dang reliable because the manufacturer doesn't put out crap. If you want an awesome variable voltage bottom feeder mod, buy the VV Grand. You won't regret it.

I like it for several reasons, in no particular order. I'll start by saying if I could only have one REO, it would be a grand (not VV):

1. it's size is great. It's slightly taller than a grand but the same width and depth. I use it mainly at home or if I am taking a ride in the car (like to pick up the kids from school) and don't have to worry about pocketing it. It fits my hand perfectly.
2. The button placement is perfect - trigger finger.
3. The way the button fires is superb - it's done thru electronics so it is either on or off (no firing pin / spring / moving positive contact).
4. No noalox required since the contact doesn't move.
5. The batts last a long time. I vape at a very low setting but also rotate mods though.
6. Every hit is exactly the same right up until the stacked 18350s die. Hard for me to explain but since the chip operates on the combined voltage, the batteries still function perfectly all the way down to each battery hits around 3.7 volts. So even at when they are depleted down to 3.7 each, they are still capable of pumping like 7.4 volts! Try vaping a battery depleted down to 3.7 on your grand - it's starting to taper off once your battery is at that point right?
7. There is allot of space inside the mod for bottle access ease.

thanks for this... that was the big debate, reo grand first, then i can start thinking about another reo grand or a vv grand at that point...

lol

will the vv reo just cut off when the batts get too low?

i believe it won't fire if the batteries get too low, but if you leave it on a shelf without switching it off, the batts will drain to zero.

ask me how i know...

It will cut off when the batteries drop below your set voltage. If you vape at low / medium voltage like I do, that's atleast a day and night of vaping.

It does have parasitic drain but it's VERY minimal. I use mine daily and try to swap out the batteries every day.

It's best not to drain em below 3.7 V which still offers 7.4 volts of power even when the batteries need to be swapped :)

One cool benefit about VV is I wrap up a 2ish ohm like 14 wrap micro and it produces amazingly full clouds of vapor :)
