roflol I went through both. No appetite, then really sore empty hungry and now ts settled down. In the 13 months I have been vaping I seem to have had a little bit of everything, but nothing that lasted more than a couple of weeks, and nothing so bad that I could not deal with it...or I should say ignore it until it went away

It sounds like me. It affects my stomach too. I was that way in the beginning thought i was gonna barf, then it turned to hunger. Don't know which is worse.
I did notice though that it also depends on which e-juice I am using.
Just wish I had kept track of which ones were ok for my stomach and which ones made me painfully hungry. I keep forgetting that I need to also drink more water which helps.

I know one now. It is dekang menthol I got with a new kit. I will either add some pg or vg see if that helps or give it to my son.

Good luck keep track of the juice you are using don't wait 6 months like I did.

Unfortunately for me I've been battling slight nausea since I've started solely vaping...so I'm sick AND hungry all the time!!!

Sorry to heat that Wendy, I hope your nausea goes away very soon. I have not heard that about vaping but please look at the health section here on ECF they have loads of information. Maybe you should try different e-liquids than what you have now or a differrent mg, possibly what you have presently is too high. Maybe others on the forum will have more advice for you too. Take care.

Like many have said when I frst started vaping I wasnt hungry at all - didnt snack or eat much - but from about month 3 - omg - Its like when i was doing aerobics 5 times a week I feel famished - my tummy grumbles for food all the time. Its annoying because when i DO eat Im full up really fast and then feel uncomfortable for ages and/or get indegestion. I'm old enough to know that my brain knows the difference between hunger and thirst pangs (a lot of people msitake one for the other, a lot of overeaters just dont drink enough) but this is actual FOOD PANGS.
Maybe I should try the peanut butter thing..or maybe theres something more healthy I can use lol.

Ever since I started vaping I began to feel like I am staving to death, to the point where it feels like it has been days since the last time I ate. I don't want to eat but I have to. Do not want the extra pounds!

Anyone else experienced this?

I gained about 30lbs. in 5 months. Now I'm on a freaking diet. :-x

It's worth it, though. I needed to eat better and get some exercise, anyway. Now that I'm not smoking, I may even start running again. I used to love running and lifting weights.

I'm on week 3 now of Vaping without a smoke.

I've been constantly hungry as well. I just kind of figured this was my appetite returning from all those nasty chemicals in cigarettes suppressing it.

For me, this is a great thing, since while I was smoking I would often times only eat once a day or sometimes go without a meal at all in favor of just lighting up.

It's starting to normalize a bit now. But, I'm still definitely more inclined to eat an actual meal now. It's awesome.
As a side effect of my increased appetite and ever returning lung capacity I've decided to actually start exercising to keep potential weight off and help my body return to a more favorable health.

Would be more helpful if people could distinguish between [...]

"when I first started vaping".

sometime in August or September of '09.

"when I first quit smoking cigarettes" [...]

I think the last cigarette I smoked was a couple of days after Christmas of '09. I don't see how that is any more helpful. If you're looking for hard data, this is the wrong question. Very few of us have a "start vaping/stop smoking" date.

Good answer. Dates don't mean anything to me either. Everytime i want to know when i started vaping, i have to dig through my email from cignot that says 'your order has shipped' and add 2 days to that.

I don't think it's the wrong question at all, hard data aside. The topic is whether or not vaping makes you hungry. It is well established that cigarettes have a significant appetite suppressant effect (and possibly alter metabolism), and that quitting smoking often results in significant weight gain. Therefore we can't credibly draw appetite/weight conclusions about vaping without knowing about changes in cigarette use.

For example, it becomes disingenuous to say vaping made me gain weight if I'd also just quit smoking cigarettes.

The worst time was shortly after I got off nicotine last June. Even now I still have times when I feel hungry after I eat, and it definitely has something to do with vaping.

Perfect example. Let me correct that for you! ;)
