In asking because I have an ecig on the way and I bought it for two reasons. 1. To maybe replace my cigarettes, more than likely. And 2. To finally get my nic fix in my room. I'm going to be 19 next month and still live at home. My parents hate cigarettes and they know I smoke I'm pretty sure, but they don't talk about it or ask, but they have found mu cigs a few times.
I want to know if I'm vaping in my room at night if its gonna stink of they open the door? I ordered a lot of menthol liquids and some coffee ones too. I wonder if even something like Cuban cigar would be smellable?
Thanks,
Jeff the noob

it does have a bit of an odor, but it is very rarely unpleasant, and smells nothing like a burning cigarette. My house almost always has a tinge of sweetness of some sort, as I only vape sweet juices. Butterfinger is my favorite at the moment. So basically, they will smell SOMETHING probably, but it will be subtle, and certainly wont be a cigarette they smell.

as a test I blew vapor at a co-worker (also an x smoker), she crinkled her nose and said it stunk....however shes also been after me to get completely off nicotine, so, she may be biased...LOL. it was tobacco flavored...I have noticed that my car air freshener will over ride the smell...

My husband has never smoked. I was vaping some 100% PG menthol juice I got from Vapor4life. He said it has no smell. I vape it inside where I work (and am not allowed to smoke AT ALL) and no one seems to smell anything.
I vape fruity stuff, colas and vanilla at home. Hubby likes the smell of the fruits and cola but says the vanilla is a bit intense but not unpleasant.

You can buy unflavored with nicotine and that shouldn't smell. Vanilla doesn't leave much smell nor do chocolates. Some tobaccos do leave a good amount of smell. You can sort of mask tobacco smell by adding some peach or cocoa or vanilla. But some tobaccos smell right through that (like Turkish blends which have a sort of pungent sharp edge to them)

Another thing. If I'm at a red light taking hits out of a black riva, are people gonna look at me like a clown. I knew about exigencies long before I ever ordered one, does the general public know what they are or will I be looked at and laughed at :)

Nah, they'll prolly look at you with a confused look on their faces though.

Whether it smells or not depends on the flavor, some do and some don't. At any rate it's not a smell that lingers around and coats everything like analog smoke. It dissipates pretty quickly.

Yeah some people are going look at you like you just brought out the crack pipe, hopefully those situations will become less frequent as people learn about them. I just take it as a chance to educate someone on the subject.

I manage about 20 different people at work at any given time, and usually in my office I vape and I get different reactions.

A few non-smokers will wave away the vapor like it's actual smoke. Most walk by and try to guess when I am vaping by the smell. Usually they are always wrong but a fun game. I would assume it must be a light fragrance when exhaled since they can get somewhat close to the answer.
