I only let it sit with the cap off for 24 hours, after that I've just been storing it cap on in my dark closet. I agree though, from what I've read, air is not good for the nicotine in our juices.

LOL i second that :) By the way oxygen shouldn't really make the juice taste a lot different it just should just make the nicotine evaporate.

I only let it steep with the cap off for 24 hours. I've talked to many vendors who suggest this on orders that are made fresh. I've never had an issue with ANY other juice and I've order A LOT.

I understand Guitardedmark, I just buy my Nic straight up for my DIY and from a very well know great supplier and when discussing some things with him he has always told me letting air hit your Nic is the worst thing for it and isn't good for it, so I just don't do it to let my juice steep. It works fine how my juice ends up turning out after it has steeped for a while so to each his own I guess but letting that air hit my juices just isn't for me

Actually it does more then just let it evaporate but Im not gonna get into a spat over this, speak to someone that sells Nic ONLY and is very educated on Nic and see what they have to say OK

Without reading anything scientific, I have found that my tv waffle tasted better after steeping a few weeks.

When you have multiple flavors, they need to meld together. Its the same reason why spaghetti tastes better the next day. In my opinion anyway.

Exactly. However, taking the cap off and letting the juice "breath" for 24 hours or less is not, as suggested in an earlier post, bad for the juice.

Done! Man I wish I would've known I could ask them to make me the old recipe before I ordered it 2 weeks ago :(

+1 That will most certainly be in my next order. Its funny, I was just pondering this waffle issue a couple of days ago, and thought that it has been awhile since waffle has been discussed. I think they need to just add syrup flavor into the custom one. extra waffle flavor should be another addition to the "make your own waffle"

Agreed! Great suggestion!

I just read the post about steeping by leaving the top off. While this may help a bit, the other thing that WILL occur is a more rapid onset of "tanning". As there is no color preservative being added to our liquids, as the nicotine becomes more exposed to oxygen, it will darken a lot quicker than usual.

While inconvenient, it seems that just allowing the liquid to steep on it's own is still the best way to deal with maturing the liquid.

Does the liquid "tanning" affect taste or performance in any way? Why do you say this is inconvenient? Edit: nevermind read that wrong. First question still applies though.

No, nicotine tanning doesn't affect the flavor, only the color.

I don't recommend leaving the top off to age your liquids in the first place. If aging your liquid is a matter of 3 days (for example) or something, it is my opinion you could accomplish the same time of aging with the top ON. 3 days is 3 days.

The difference between top on and top off, is having the top off allows airborne bacteria to get in the bottle than it would with the top on. Bacteria WILL turn your liquid bad.
