[First let me tell you that my three computers at home seem to have a virus or something and are working like hell, so I couldn’t properly check if this or similar has been mentioned before; if so, Im sorry and please post any links to threads of this nature. Thank you!]
This is about eGo type cones…
DOES yours leak?
Mines do... Both of them, but my friend has one which does not seem to... Just wondering whether this is a 'universal' thing or not...
Of course Im talking about the leaking or sweating which is likely when dripping and your atty leaks and the cone wont contain the juice PERFECTLY...
I get minor leaking, the sweat type of thing... Just hate this! I hate the fact liquid makes its way through the threads and changing batts gets messy...
As to solve this I managed to insert a silicone (tape) layer over the cone’s inner-wall from the end of the threaded area to the right level; which in my case was just below the 901 (which Im using with an adapter on my eGo) atty’s side air-intake. This modification resulted in a cone which gets a fully tight-seal when screwed onto the batt. It results in a hermetic; fully sealed up unit down the threads which will neither leak nor ‘sweat’. Furthermore, it ends up creating a type of reservoir/ drip shield kind of thing (in a way…) which will make you able to re-vape any juice from the space between the cone and atty. The problem is that Im not any good at modding and doing this required measuring-calculating-cutting-inserting-etcetcetc. And that was way too tricky for me, and still have one cone to mod. So, have you done/ would you know of any mod (possibly) easier for this purpose.
Then I came up with an ‘express’ mod; this being a no-brainer: simply made a tube out of a carto ‘condom’ and placed this covering the atty from threads’ end of batt to the right level. It seems to be working ok; it wont let me re-vape to the last drop of the juice in the inner-space but it seems to be working very very well and the easiness to mod more than compensates the fact it may not be as perfect as mod 1. Then again, I wouldn’t know if this latest mod would work for any cone… the first mod, though, is on the very cone itself…
So, basically:
1. Does you cone LEAK/ SWEAT?
Im trying to determine the (“rough”) amount of cones which are likely to leak/ sweat in the case of liquid inside the inner-cone-atty-space. So if your cone does NOT leak but you, say, use a carto which doesn’t ‘per se’ leak: this wont be the case. I mean: if it leaks or not but when there is juice in the mentioned cavity for a while.
If it turns that leaking may occur in many cones, then ‘sealing them up’ would be necessary…
2. What do you think about the two mods I mention? Also: Are you aware of/ Have you gone for any others?
Thank you.
