Does your plain PG have a bitter taste?

So I was mixing up some juice the other day and dripped some PG on my hand, and just licked it off, yuk, bitter taste.

Wondering if this is normal/common?

Funny I never noticed this before.

I run either 50/50 or 70/30VG, @ 0 nic.

Maybe bitter was a poor choice for words but it's hard to describe as it doesn't really resemble anything I'm familiar with, lol.

Just wondering if this might affect the flavor of a finished mix?

You should vape some of your pg straight. It should have no TH and only the slightest sweet flavor, almost none. If however, it does give off a flavor, bitter or otherwise, then yes it will impart that in your juice.

My PG isn't sweet, but my VG is. When I tasted the PG, it had an instant warmth (?) to it. No fragrance, not bitter, but not not bitter. I think I understand what you're saying....... and agree, lol.

So I vaped some PG only and it has a strange flavor, maybe chemical?

And, I did find it to be a bit unpleasant so....

Tried some plain VG and I like it much better, taste a hint of tobacco-ish maybe, and some sweetness of course.

At least it has a more pleasant neutral flavor.

Gonna have to try some of my recipes in VG/DW now.

Vaped some of my other mixes and seem to be detecting that funny taste I could never really identify.

More experimenting to do now.
