I'm doing a research project for school on if the Tea Party Movement is the beginning of a bigger picture of American's sick and tired of the years of our government pushing us around, or if it's just a fad. I could look at polls by Rasmussen, Gallup and Pew, but how many people have actually taken a poll from either of these agencies?

I'd much rather have results from what I consider real world people, those who aren't politically connected, who get their news any way they can, and regardless of political views, will give their honest opinion on things.

I'm writing the paper not to support the tea party movement, but to show that it is possibly the early stages of average American citizens making their government work for them again. I believe regardless of whether or not you are republican, democrat, independent, etc, everyone is pretty sick of the way things have been going from the last few years Bush was in office to today with our congress and senate ignoring the people to satisfy their personal agendas.

I have made a poll through a separate website, but im only allowed 100 votes, if need be, I'll add the poll here, however, I dont see myself getting 100 votes just from this site alone. I'd like to get close to 500 votes, or more to get some real sound data, but dont know if I can get that within the next 2 weeks.

By all means, feel free to write comments here or on the poll, everything will be taken into consideration for the research, except BS answers... I have left a slot open to vote your own way if any of the answers i thought up at the time are not good enough.

Here is the link to the poll

Sadly much of the movement has been co-opted by the neo-cons and the media has hyped this up so much that the orginal Tea Party movement is for the most part been destroyed. So thanks to the neo-cons and the MSM what started out as genuine political dissent has been morphed into something much different at least in many areas.

However, I do believe that people are ticked off. Something new needs to take it's place.

My Two-cents worth is,,,,why have a Tea-Party organization at all...For the people who are not a Dem or a Rep.....Join the Independent Party or another party already out there, that meets their personal values...Remember, Nadar,,,the Green Party?....
The TP party has way too many "ultras" to ever become a viable party in mainstream U.S.A.
