Morning guys,

I was playing around this morning building some coils and wanted to do a comparison between single and dual coils and see if there is any benefit to dual. This is what I found:

MM USEDTVS DIABLO CLONE, BRASS W/ PATRIOT rdaTVS DIABLO CLONE, BRASS W/ PATRIOT RDA
COIL TYPETWISTED DUAL MICRO COILTWISTED SINGLE MICRO COIL
WIRE GAUGE28 KANTHAL28 KANTHAL
DIAMETER5/64 DRILL BIT5/64 DRILL BIT
WRAPS106
WICKORGANIC COTTON BALLSORGANIC COTTON BALLS
OVERALL OHMS0.50.5
LAG TIME6**9**
BATTERYFRESHLY CHARGED 4.2 EFEST IMR 18650 1600mAH 30AFRESHLY CHARGED 4.2 EFEST IMR 18650 1600mAH 30A
AMPS8.48.4
WATTS35.2835.28
VAPOR10**8**
FLAVOR10**10**
** SCALE OF 1 TO 10

Basically, I found that the single had a little less vapor, and hardly any lag time. The dual coil setup had a bit more vapor but a significant lag time, about 3 seconds or so. I'll probably use the dual setup at home when relaxing, and the single in the car or at work. Do these seem pretty consistent with your builds?

Thx!!

I'm using a dual micro atm and it's rocking my face off.

28g, 8 wraps each on a needle. .5 ohms. Using 18mg nic and it's just burning through juice and giving me a really intense nic hit.

Nice coil setup. I've tried RBAs like that and never can get them to wick that great haha. I'm more of a dripping kind of guy. Here's my dual coil setup for today on my Igo-W though it is only 0.8 Ohms, 9 wrap on a tiny screwdriver I got with my Fogger V3. It vapes great! Edit: 28g Kanthal A1

this sounds correct.
a few things to keep in mind.

the overall amount of wire will affect response time at a given resistance, and the fact that at the same resistance you now have each coil getting only half the wattage.

so in effect you now have twice the wire in the overall build to heat up with each coil only receiving half the wattage as the singe build.

as you have noticed slower response but more flavor - more wire = more surface area = more juice being vaporized per second = more nic and flavor.

I would raise the overall guage a little and cut the amount of wraps down some and the response time should improve if you can keep the resistance the same.

,

For a dual coil setup, what would you suggest to get the max surface area, resistance around .5-.8, but no lag time? Is it possible with twisted wire and have no lag time? Should I go with a smaller diameter? Thx.
