I have two Don switches, and one was giving me problems. It would not fire all the time and/or I had to press really hard to get it to fire. I found on another forum (can't recall which one at the moment) that the problem can be caused by the plastic piece inserted into the battery spring. Apparently, if it's not even all the way across, or has a lip/bump on it, it can cause mis-firing. I looked at mine and, sure enough, it had a slight imperfection on the plastic and wasn't flat all the way across. I took a razor blade and shaved it nice and flat and, low and behold, it solved the problem completely.
