What tanks have a protruding 510 or are safe to use on a series mod-from experience-? Or just forget about it? Adjustable pins or forget about it?
Wanna be safe, girls love my purty smile!

Why would want to use a series mechanical mod?
Mechanical mods are for advanced users only.
It's obvious you don't really have much experience with direct to battery devices or series mods, so I ask why?

Take the time to actually do the research or you will eventually get hurt.

I would advise forgetting the cricket until you actually know what you are doing.

Short story that restored some of my faith in brick and mortar vape shops.

I own a noisy cricket and took it with me when I went to local vape shop. I was just in looking for wire (you can burn thru a lot of kanthal building duel 18 wrap 24 gage 3.5mm coils) the guy behind the counter notices what I'm carrying and asks me to please put it away. He says they don't sell that and did not want a group of sub-tank kids asking questions about something they weren't ready for.

Now there is nothing wrong with series mechs or even direct to battery, but there is no room for error.

We recognized the dangers of series unregulated mods years ago. Why do they keep re-appearing?

Hope this doesn't offend the OP as it's not directed at them.

The problem is when uneducated adults want to look cool by using tools that they clearly aren't intelligent enough to use safely.

I wouldn't recommend a chainsaw to someone that couldn't read or write.

I wouldn't recommend a mechanical to a vaper that can't understand primitive flashlight electronics and battery safety.

While I completely agree with you 100% on this, I'd have to argue that there are probably millions of uneducated adults being allowed to operate dangerous heavy machinery, or worse, run for president.

I do agree and commend you people here on pushing safety. But not everyone who finds time to post in here is an uneducated child. Anyone with a tad common knowledge and enough sense to know the dangers and proceed accordingly could come in here and be looking for information, but instead be put off by it.
But, I'm telling ya. I would not jump in and put a pipe bomb to my purty smile for a nicotine fix until I was damn certain it was safe or at least let my wife try it first.

It's simply because, people who are unfamiliar with mech mods, ohms law and battery safety go out and buy them because they're cool. Next thing you know they shorted out the battery causing it to vent (best case scenario) or explode (worst case). Mech mods don't have any electronics or regulators that conventional mods do. Most don't have shortage protection, battery voltage protection or regulators to keep your mod or battery from being damage.

The main reason everyone here warns people about the dangers of mech mods is because every time someone gets hurt by these things, it looks bad on the vaping community, and it gives big tobacco companies that much more leverage in trying to keep vaping products out of the hands of consumers like us. Vaping is generally much safer than tobacco, and once someone is very educated with battery safety and ohms law a mech mod can be very safe as well.

This is neither an attack on your nor your intelligence. A very smart man could just as easily blow his grill out if he doesn't understand mech mods. I personally do not want to take the chance, as I'm perfectly happy with my regulated mods. But if you are so inclined to purchase one, make sure you are well equipped and prepared.

They can be very useful and durable products. They're generally smaller, more sturdy and more capable. But you don't want to become another statistic lol. My two cents.

I understand. No one wants to be the one to offer information to someone that turns around and hurts themselves and give them media another story to run with. But if that person took the time to come here and look for the right information that is a step in the right direction.

Looking for information is only half the battle, many of us here have given information to people who then choose to ignore it. Too many times people ask a specific question and continue to debate the answers given so that it fits their original question. Which always leaves me confused because if you were going to do what you had planned before asking for advice why ask in the first place?

No one is trying to put you off in any way. You should also be commended for taking a step in the right direction. But I for one could not in good conscience give any advise to someone without knowing all the information. Just tell us what your working with.
