I did...up until about a few days ago.

I mean, all this stuff you have to do...all the paraphernalia you have to invest in and carry around with you.

Smoking never seemed this big a hassle. The whole experience has made it painfully obvious to me how addicted I am to nicotine. The fact that smoking was convenient made my addiction easier to ignore.

The biggest pain for me was cartridge refills. I quickly discovered how expensive "pre-fills" would be, so I opted to refill my own. Darned if I didn't spend more time prepping cartridges...getting mediocre results! It wasn't until I learned about tea bags as filler that I began to settle into a convenient routine and enjoy a consistent vaping experience; not unlike smoking itself.

It's become so effortless that I no longer feel like a junkie.

One last thing, though. You know they describe crack addicts as "sucking on a glass d___."

Hard to escape that imagery when I reach for my e-cig. :(

Ok. I've been out of the loop for a bit. I must have missed something. Teabags as filler? Can you explain please?

Yes we are junkies, state and country sponsored junkies at that. What led me to the E-cigg was the fact that my drug dealers, local, state and congressional pimps are demanding more money again. It is not enough that they make more then the manufacturers, did their best to hide the effects until they got out but now want to act like taxing more is a responsible way to do business. State sponsored addiction, turning into state sponsored extortion. What a country.

I gotta go fill some carts.

Way to take the fun out of a thread Hangar. :)

Truly!

Hangar: I really don't think that any here really believes this to be 100% safe. Most who have read the forums, should understand that the long term safety hasn't been established.

Also, as this device was not designed as an NRT, most of us do not refer to it as such, because there is no data to support it. That's why you hear all the caterwalling when some supplier calls it "healthy".

Yes, the ideal solution would be to give up Nicotine completely. However, there are those, myself included, who were sucked into the whole "smoking is cool", "smoking won't hurt you" propaganda very early in our lives and quitting the physical motion as well as giving up the nicotine completely, may not ever happen. Would you suggest that we go back to smoking cigarettes because the personal vaporizer is going to kill us as well?

Here's a thought for you....The cities are filled with carbon monoxide from car exhaust, yet we continue to walk around inhaling the dirty air. Since there is a possibility that we will become ill or die from that exposure, perhaps we should just suck it straight from the tailpipes and stop kidding ourselves. ;)

Over in the Tips & Tricks section, surbitonPete introduced the teabag as surprisingly effective cartridge refill material.

Hangar, I have been downgrading the nic bit by bit, but if I am going to stay off Analogs, I need some nic for now.
I don't do "Other" drugs, I quit drinking (almost) and I gave up men (except hubby) You gotta give me a break!

i have news...with the whole switching to e-cig thing?...you and the rest of us are STILL killing ourselves by using it. It may not contain as many harmful toxins as burning tobacco, but it STILL DOES contain harmful chemicals that cause heart disease, increased heart rates, heart attacks, hypertension...and thats not to mention that you might still be at high risk for throat cancer because i can promise you this stuff is wreaking havok on your throats in a similar way that cigarettes do....try lighting up an analog...does it hurt badly when you inhale or not?...if it doesnt hurt thats bad news concerning ecigs and throat linings i would think. Of course what do I know, im not a Dr., but some common sense can go a long way here as well.

IMO...the only real health benefit you'll ever get from e-cigs is if you intend on using them as a way to stop smoking COMPLETELY instead of just quiting cigarettes. When we start to see a high percentage of us not only getting off of cigarettes, but also continuiing to give up ecigs within a reasonable time frame THEN ill be very impressed.

Unfortunately i see too many people out here fooling themselves into believing that ecigs are probably safe enough to do it all day long and to do it for years on end...heck, ive even seen some say they intend on using it the rest of their lives...this is simply foolish thinking folks. I believe it is STILL a harmful activity...just because it has a few thousand less chemicals doesnt mean its actually good for you, lol.

I know that noone wants to hear that, but hey...its true. Its just plain ol' common sense. Use it as a tool instead of a permanent replacement and THEN we'll no longer be addicts.

I dont really give a sh-t about health benefits. Just like when I was a ...... addict, I vape because it really satisfies me and I need to have it. I laugh at the majority of the poeple you mentioned (which is sadly the majority here). This is a ...-n expensive hobby and yal shoulda just stayed with analogs. Don't do this for health benefits. I got into this not giving a f-ck about what the consequences are and how expensive it will be. Hangar is right on with what the consequence are. It is the lesser of the two evils, but still will kill you and cost you more (unless you have a screwdriver). How many do this because they don't give a f-ck besides me?

God Yes, picture me in a small town where everyone knows everybody else. Including the local pharmacist where I went to buy my syringe! Ah, John, I need a syringe - "you need what?". Needless to say I explained in GREAT detail, even made a show of my arms to prove I didn't have needle tracks.

Yes, we are without any doubt JUNKIES! Just the marginally acceptable kind.

Saboteur,

Thanks! I've booked marked so I can read the whole post. I just love the ideas that folks come up with. The forum is so large, I can't begin to read everything. Helps when folks share. :)
