This might be a case where the retail stores need to speak up, since they stand to lose a lot of revenue. If all the stores that sell these products banded together to get the law repealed they should be able to pull it off.

Suppose that we tried to control drinking alcohol in the same way. In many states, ABC (for Alcoholic Beverage Control) stores owned by the state itself are the only places that you can purchase whiskey and other "hard" liquors. Every single product in the entire store would need to be kept hidden. Gee, I love shopping by guess work, don't you?

I'll take Door #2.

The Nanny State will continue to Ban and place restrictions
until the public screams Enough is Enough.

Based on recent election polls ...
about 50% of Americans prefer a Nanny State.
So ... I doubt there ever will be a public out-cry.

Many years ago ... I read the book "1984" and smiled, thinking
to myself ... This is all just fiction and would never happen in America.

This has been the situation in Ireland for some time now, the only sign that cigarettes are available in a shop is the notice that under 18 will not be served alcohol or tobacco.
It's not a problem as smokers just ask for whatever they usually bought, (creatures of habit) and shops don't care as the margin on cigarettes was so low that displaying them just took up space to display higher margin products.
E-cig are not a tobacco produce here and are displayed on the counter openly, tho I'm told sales are low now, they expect an increase as the price hikes come next budget.

This became Law in New Zealand early this week. Electronic cigarettes are not openly on sale here and nicotine is banned from sale, but we are allowed to import for personal use. The New Zealand Government is planning to have the whole country smoke free in 13 years. Good luck to them I think we will just have a huge black market here if this continues. There was even talk of banning smoking anywhere on the streets that would allow a smoker to come into contact with another non-smoking person. It is already banned in all indoor areas, government buildings, hospitals and schools to name just a few. We currently have 18% of the population here that smoke.

Off-Topic of e-cigs and tobacco
but "On Topic" of the Nanny State wishing to hide products from view

Mayor Bloomberg is pushing hospitals to hide their baby formula
behind locked doors so more new mothers will breast-feed. LINK

Bloomberg has lost his ever lovin' Nanny State mind.
Why is there no movement to throw this idiot out of office ??

I can't wait to write and ask Dr. Bloomberg what feminine protection product he thinks women should use. Since he has an opinion on everything, I'm sure he knows what's best for us in this department as well.
Oh, that is just too funny !!
:p
The sad thing is ... The idiot would probably think you are serious
and start thinking about banning feminine protections he doesn't approve.

A side note: Hope this idiot, in the future, doesn't decide to run for President.
By then ... Most Americans will be Nanny State lovers and he very well might win.
SCAREY Thought

HIDE the tampons .....
Brings to mind a party that I was at many years ago.
The hostess had a very playful cat.

At one point the cat got into the cabinet under the bathroom sink
and strolled into the living room ... at first glance we thought it
was so funny seeing a cat smoking a white cigar.

The hostess was the only one not laughing !!
