Yes, I totally agree, my 901's exterior was getting drenched too. For solid info, it would be best to ask the true creator himself Keith over at empiremods.
When using a drip shield, you should really stick with the recommendations of the atty in terms of how much liquid to add. They can't be used as tanks. Look at this way. A Drip shield fortifies.

So I tried JD's set up, and I went to dry pull it. I thought to myself "This is the hardest draw I have ever felt. No wonder no one ever does this." HOWEVER, I put my thoughts aside and vaped it myself, since I couldnt de-bunk it if I never tired it

I fired up my i06, and my thoughts were "This draw is actually quite pleasing!" I actually really like the draw. Sweet set up man. Thanks for sharing this with us. I honestly, would have probably never bought this atomizer if I didnt know I could use a drip shield.

And the atomizer is really good about not leaking. I mean really good. I dropped I think about 8-9 drops in it and no leaks. I just like the drip shield for "in case" I somehow manage to over drip on this thing and it leaking all over my Darwin. Not a good thing to happen.

Awesome! Glad you're liking it!!

I def notice that the i06's don't leak much, but there is the occasional drop that gets into my well when used w/o a shield. If I hit mine w/o the shield I don't like it as much. I think it goes like this: tighter draw means less air flowing across coil, which translates into thicker vapor IMO. The more air that rushes through an atty, the more airy of a hit, thinner vapor. Sounds logical to me :p

Maybe I set mine up wrong, LOL
I almost couldn't draw at all, it was like molasses through a straw. But then I flipped my shield over so that the holes were at the top and the draw was perfect and no leaks.
On the other hand, I also have a MAP drip shield that won't draw at all unless the holes are at the bottom.
Maybe it's just me.....

JD it is one of the best set ups for the i06 and the vape is one of the best! Finally got the right drip tip and works even better. Before I modified the plastic tip that comes with the i06 to fit a regular drip tip. Worked good but, not as well with the delrin tip.
