Dreaded burnt taste. Any fix or are they toast at that point?

So as of last night, I have 2 Ce3s that started with the burnt taste. I think I know what happened. When you start on a new Ce3, I've found that if you don't have a relatively fully charged battery, you'll get no vapor. You will pull on it and it won't work. 1 second or less pulls. Then attach a fully charged batt and bam!, vapor. BUT, burnt taste. So a couple less-than-a-second pulls with aless-than-fully-charged battery and youget burnt taste.

It happened to me like that on Tuesday night and then last night. I had fully established the theory on Tuesday night and really tried to go easy on the pulling to avoid the burnt taste and it happened anyway.

My question is, once you get that burnt taste, is there anything you can do to get rid of it or is the Ce3 a goner?

I think you reach a certain point where they are just done. I have read others getting 2+ months out of their CE3s but mine have only gone for about a month, which is still a fantastic bargain at $2.

I tried the soaking in vodka and dry burning but it was a lot of work with little results. It didnt change much but I did get some spare parts out of the deal.

I would say that is mainly depends on what type of person you are.....if you want to get the absolute most out of what you pay and have the time, try soaking in vodka for 24 hours (and a complete dissassemble), dry burn and maybe even another soak but a good rinse with water..........or just toss it and buy more when they die.

I've been using the same CE3 (my first one) for about 3-4 weeks, and only been vaping RY4 in it. I have noticed lately that mine is getting the burnt taste as well. I knew I could "burn" a carto, but didn't know I could do it on CE3.

Might just be a build up on the coil. RY4 is sweet and they build up pretty bad, as does other dark/sweet juices. Might try a complete dis-assembly, vodka soak, very lightly scrape the coils, good rinse and a dry burn. Be sure to check outlaw vapors video on YouTube first.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I'll throw in my two cents. I like RY4 a lot and it does gunk up the coils pretty quickly. I flush them after every use before refilling them. About every third or fifth refill I take them apart and do a "placque" removal on the coil using a dental pick. My latest method is soaking the base only in Spray Nine for a few days to loosen the gunk, a "placque" removal session, then a vodka soak, then a flush and re-assemble and use. After that process they're like new again and I'm still using a couple from the July release. I don't bother with a dry burn anymore, it's too easy to burn the wicks in these in my opinion. Burn the wicks and they are "ferme".

Yes I use plain tap water. I take the rubber mouthpiece off and the inner seal. I run hot water through the tube and blow through it a couple times. They I put them all in a cup and let them soak.

Sometimes I use coke. Not diet, these things aren't watching their figure.

Some use vinegar, peroxide, baking soda, vodka, everclear

I can say this.. I bought mine back in July. I am still using three of the 5 from that pack. The 2 I am not using I cracked (accidentally trying to pull the post) and made into drippers. Then I stepped on 1 and decided to do an autopsy on it. The other I just trashed because I didn't feel like messing with it and I had an old 3 piece starter kit from another company that was easier to drip on. It is an unsealed auto though. I just take the atty and drip a drop on it. put the tube on then put on the batt. Easier to clean just the atty.
