Here is a new door I am "beta testing" on my all-day Reo Grand. It's a beta in that this is not a patina. It's ink on a regular TRA door. Also a beta as it has a different clear coat, one that's supposed to never chip or come off, even if you want it to. Curious to see how this thing fares ;)

This would be a good match for a certain resin mod that, hopefully, will be coming out soon. :)

I'm curious to how it turns out. It's really pretty. Are your patina's covered with a finish like this one?

Thats beautiful Mark!! Quick question, once you get you new clear coat processing in place, can we send our existing doors to you to have coated?

Yes, the are covered in a clear high temperature enamel. Most have been just fine with it. Just use a wet microfiber to clean and an occasional wax polish if you like super shiny. Just don't used alcohol.
New stuff is more environmentally friendly, no aerosol, and is harder yet. Supposedly can never crack, but it's also very permanent; no solvents will remove it, ever.
We'll see how it works, but when I get onto the new system in a couple months, I'll be able to redo any I need to once it's all dialed in.

Certainly, see my previous post ^ :)

I think the new stuff will be better and allow for a couple other new ideas I'm cooking up. If it works like it think there will be some really cool new developments in the next few months, that's all I'll say for now. ;)

Looks like another addiction in store! LOL Already addicted to REOs and MHM drip tips. Have one on Mark's doors and a combo on the way :) With these new developments, it's going to be hard to resist!

The new process I am referring to is an air powered system that'll be in the new shop, hopefully dialed in within a couple months.
I have found an interim product that I'm using on a couple repairs between now and then. This is what I'm beta testing on my TRA door. I'm a little reluctant to use it on everything I'm doing right now, as 90%+ of the patinas I've done have not had any issues. This stuff won't come off without heavy sanding so I'm hesitant to put it on more than I have to until I know 1st hand how it fares from everyday use. Been using this mostly to spot treat thus far.

Grrrr, let's connect again via pm this afternoon about it and another question I have for you. :)

Dani, TY and I love Mark's work! It would be neat to have this type of door option for the Woodvils LOL But I know that's not possible because of the way they are made. ;)

Momma, I see you are a part of a Rat Terrier Rescue group. We are involved with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels rescue in Ohio. We have three that came out of puppy mills, but they sit in the lap of luxury now. And, they've taken over our bed!!!

Awww....neat and bless you for taking in rescues, especially mill dogs. I have been volunteering for awhile with rescue and have three ratties and a chi. One of the ratties, whom is a tripod is also a therapy dog :) All are slightly spoiled. LOL

Putting out some feelers here...

I'm looking at some bottom fed box mods that would look great with a patina and would like to know if there is any interest among those who frequent this thread. ??

It would not be cheap, but it would be decadent :)

You have my interest....Of course, I have more mods than I need ;) LOL
