Ok I am usually wrong, but if one was to use a thin dremel wheel to cut the batt threads on the 901 in 4 places down to the adapter tube level, and then an exacto knife to carefully clean them up.........

I would be able to run cartomisers from the 808 on my 901 manual modded batts.

Correct or no?

I don't mind modding the 901 batts to be able to mix and match.

I need more coffee. A quick filing of a flat spot through the threads and at half the tube thickness by the bat end, makes the 901 the same as an 808 batt for the cartomisers and is very fast to do.

dremel slots..what was I thinking? Ok I guess you could do it both ways to make one that performed in the middle or wide open like an 808.

I might try drilling some very small holes ( 1/32") at the base, where the threads start. You want to get into the cavity surrounding the center post.

I would start with 2 and see how it draws.

The KR manual batts have 4 pin holes (a very small pin hole that clogs easily) around the base. FWIW I've read where folks have used a 1/16" bit to drill out the KR batts existing pin holes to help with the draw.

:pop:

I found I need to lay off the coffee when soldering though.

;) me too. Ok a tiny experiment, but for the mod boxes I can just file the flat spot on the 901 extension connection and use anything 808 or 901 on a sealed connector.

I'm a newb... At least all the stuff I have now can play together. Thats good.

I thought about this but these are sealed manual batts on the 901s so I still wanted to keep the seal so they were good to drip since the attys go straight through. I don't have any auto 901 batts so I couldn't say on those.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. The KR carts have notches on the sides and a notched connector. The carts notched connector allows it to draw air from the sides, the cavity. Even though my KR manual batt has a hole in the center conductor (not notched though) a GreenCig cart with no notches of any type, only a center hole will not draw at all. The KR battery center hole provides no air flow, just like sealed battery. A KR auto batt does have a notched center post, so maybe a GreenCig cart will work on those.

The advantage of drilling into the batt threads and into the cavity is that you can fine tune the draw, depending on the number of holes and the size.

FWIW a KR808D-1 batt provides more voltage than a 901's.

That makes total sense. I said I was a newb modder though, so it takes folks who know, to steer the ship. ;)

I was thinking of a carto mod, but then you have to mod every carto.Your right though, the filing of the flat only works with the 901 manuals and carts.

A simple adapter is probably the answer? then you could do one mod and cover evrything with two adapters?

I think I need to order the parts first and then post, once I have all the ends worked, but I think I have mod boxes in my future........

This vaping thing is craazzzyy......

You want an easier way? Get one of these - 901 Battery Extension, drill a small hole in the side & screw a cartomizer on it. Works like a charm. Or, even easier-get some of these - 808-D/901 Battery Connector. Put them on your boxes, be careful with the glue & you can use 901 attys or KR808D-1 cartos on the same box. Then, if that's not enough, get one of these - 901 Battery to 510 Atomizer adapter. Then you'll have one box that you can vape 901s, KR808D-1s, & 510s.
Good luck with the modding, but, be careful... It's verry addictive!

Yep, I can see getting this:901 Battery to 510 Atomizer adapter no reason to get the others if I can file the 901 batts as they show up and use anything that may be charged. Everything I have now works together, but the 510 is an upcoming thing just yet. I feel good about modding those batts and not adding an adapter to the mix for now. But remember i'm a newb, so there is much to learn and I'm listening closely. The 510, 401 and 801 are only a couple orders away.

Still thinking on the mod box but a 510 adapter and filing the connector would give me three. Then an 801 adapter would give me 4. Carts work great though so i'm moving that direction.
