Anyone have any experience with the dremel stylus for modding? I was thinking about getting one, checked it out at home depot and it seemed like a nice form factor for this kind of tool especially since we're working mostly with really small parts.

The only concern I have is the possible lack in power as opposed to a corded. Been scouring eBay for a good deal on one, but by the time all the people bid it costs just as much as brand new! I don't get people, maybe they just like "winning" bids. If anyone has one they don't want I'll buy it off ya ;) I'd put this tool in the "nifty" category along with my "helping hands" I got from RadioShack :vapor:

Sorry if this is considered off-topic

yeah, people on ebay don't seem to matter what the item's "value" is, makes you wonder what's going on

i take it as a sign to save my money, but often get caught up looking all over the place

good luck if you have the bug for that tool. I did once but price and power put me off of it, but that was before the 12v li-ion battery model

i see wood carving people use it, but say light duty, finish sanding, no large burrs...how that translates to mods i dunno, but it seems like it would be easier to whittle out the insides of a box if you can hold the piece easier

i imagine you've gone to home depot and felt it in your hands, obsessed imagined how it would feel to use it? i got something for $14 at a harbor freight type place, satisfied the itch and works fine (but i'd buy american next time). I don't know if the comfort is worth the price difference for how often i won't use it.

Im thinking I may just get a regular corded dremel and the dremel drill press. Idk about going cheapo on this one. A harbor freight just opened in my area, I been to there in florida and wasnt too impressed as far as tools go. Theyre great if u need a specific tool ur only gonna use a few times though or if say u need a bunch of chain and a trailer hitch or some BS.
