Drill out air hole on my RBA?

So I finally got around to fiddling with my AGA-T2. Made a micro coil with cotton wick. With the top cover off I fired it up and loads of vapor comes off of it, more so than my PT2 that has worked great for me. When I put the top on (yes the air hole is lined up with the coil) I don't seem to get as much vapor as my PT2. Would drilling the hole out a little help?

Before you drill it, place the cap side by side to see if airhole is centered. You can put it on the first oring or in between the two orings. If that doesn't work, use a bit as close to 1mm to just take a little off at a time.

I happened to swap the cap from my A6 dual coil (dual-opposing holes) onto my ST MiniRDA. I had previously opened the hole on the ST MiniRDA to 1/16". It worked well, but the draw was still a little tight. With the dual hole cap, the draw is easier and I experience even more vapor.

I say all this to ensure you that some of these, if not most, rebuildables have holes that are just too small to begin with. I appreciate being able to open the hole to my preference. I say if the draw seems somewhat tight and there seems like there's room for improvement, it's perfectly fine to open the hole to suit your desire.

I have read a recent report that the FDA is going to be regulating the size of the airhole to prevent inadvertent use by people who like vapor in quantities that are unacceptable to uneducated non-vapers, so drill away before it's too late!

Just bear in mind when you start boring it out, you can always make it bigger, but you can't really make it smaller again.

1/16 drill bit put the top cap just off center of coil that's what I tryed worked will but tryed it once and went back to ss mesh

Drilling a bigger air hole will give you a better hit, but just don't drill it too big.

I used a reg drill and did it just fine !! And a 99 cent drill bit !

What do you recommend for the AGA-T2? Hits "pretty" good.. very good vapor, but would love to lossen up the draw just a hair or two. Any good rec's from AGA owners?

I fixed that problem by using rda's that don't have a hole in the side

I didn't find the AGA caps to be that hard (unlike the IGO-L clone cap which required cobalt).

I've started using my high speed burs (because I have them in all kinds of sizes) and they haven't been dulled on the AGA caps.

I also use a flex shaft to drill most things, but I have a lot of experience breaking tiny drill bits.

Don't listed to these people. Everyone knows the proper way to open up an air hole is to use successively larger firecrackers, starting with little lady fingers until you get up to an M80, stuffed into the airhole. Light it, put the cap on the ground and stand on it to hold it in place.

Just be aware that it makes for a very very airy draw. I kinda regret drilling out the hole in my IGO L. I gotta IGO W on the way and I think Im just gonna leave that alone.

Its just depends on weather you a vapor chaser or not.

I used a 1/16 bit to open it up. Made a big difference. Definitely a bigger cloud!! Now my 28g kanthal needs to get here so I can make a proper micro coil.
