Well, I've noticed a 3rd kind of 901/4075 cart, which came with a couple of 901 attys. It's sorta like 901 standard 1 piece, although it's got round hole in the end, and it's got the air hole left and right, like 4075. Great thing about these, at least for me, has been that I had very little experience of getting any liquid in my mouth.

I disassembled one, and found that the cap is much deeper than regular 901 1piece flat hole, which holds and prevents liquid leak much better.

I've had the same problem with my 901. Maybe not a great solution but I've been popping the small insert in the mouthpiece, the one with the hole in it, off with a paper clip and inserting some unused cart material.

It does help catch the extra juice but once the stuffing becomes saturated it starts again and you have to restuff. Maybe effects the draw on it a bit too but not to a point of being an issue.

Probably why I use my 510 almost exclusively these days. I've never had that problem with it. Much better device in my opinion. I do have one short bridge 901 atomizer that works well without this issue. Maybe like someone mentioned before it's a battery issue. I use all manual batteries with the 510. Just not sure but definitely don't like it.

How is the 510 so much better?

Just curious because I may end up getting one.

I find it much more consistent. Maybe because of the manual batteries. It also seems to produce more vapor for me and hits a little harder. Every single hit is a good one. No juice in the mouth either.

On the downside the battery life doesn't seem to be as good. Probably the manual batteries again. I'm able to control the length of the draw better so each hit probably drains a little more battery life as compared with my 901.

The 901 also may be a little better for getting the flavor of the juice(maybe because it's getting in my mouth. ;-) and is possibly a little smoother.

Overall though I have gravitated to the 510 and use it 90% of the time. If you want something that is a managable size, has the traditional cigarette look but still works very well I would highly recommend you try one.

I’m still a newbe, but:

Don’t over fill your carts.

Don’t suck any harder than is required to activate the batt.

Keep it tilted down. Yea - extra juice will run down into the batt causing other problems.

Try different tips. The round ones have a much bigger empty reservoir to fill up before it can happen.

Finally, after the incident you can dismantle the cart to clean it out. - On the flat tip ones, I use pointed tweezers to pry off the ‘final air hole” piece, dry it and swab out the ‘rear reservoir’ with a small piece of rolled up paper towel. With the round ones, I use a hooked paper clip and a Q-tip.

I think that a slow draw is the main answer here. I can see where a large batt would reduce the need to over draw.

I second the part about a slow draw. That really does make a big difference. Another reason I like the manual batteries.

Some of the automatic batteries I have for the 901 seem like you have to suck too hard to get them to activate. I've found a lot inconsistency in this respect. Some of my 901 batteries are much easier to activate than others.

Maybe when the manual batteries for the 901 come out I'll use it more.

Are there any mods like the SD or prodigy that are compatible w the 501?

Probably only a month to 6 weeks. So far it's held up great. Only problem I have had is on the first kit I bought I got one manual battery and one automatic battery. Had too much to drink one night and dropped the automatic battery on a hard wood floor. Killed it. Other than that they've worked great with no problems. I ended up buying a second starter kit after liking the first and pretty much retired the 901s.

I'm fairly new to this stuff (2 months or so) so don't claim to be an expert but that has been my experience. The 901s I've bought have been more hit or miss. some work OK and some have been duds. All of the 510s (2 stater kits and an extra battery) have worked great.

I drip exclusively and if the juice starts to reverse wick (into the cart from the atty)...I just blow the juice into a napkin...in my experience,The juice doesn't come thru the middle of the cart and into the mouth...it comes through the holes on either side of the carts. Just blow into napkin till no more juice remains in those channels (holes)
and yer' all set!

So just blow thru the mouthpiece?

The attys seem to be holding up well. I haven't been alternating them as I probably should. I'm using one from the second kit I recieved everyday without problem. The others work fine still also.

I do the same thing mentioned above concerning blowing out the extra juice every now and then on a paper towel. that's pretty much all I've done to this point as far as maintanance is concerned.
