I'm pretty sure that when I grabbed the filler that was glued to the 'floor' of the cart (I called it a baffle) I dislodged it from it's place. which then allows a straight shot for the juice from the filler right into the mouth hole. If I blow and draw rapidly on that cart I can feel and hear the movement of that 'floor plate' If you take a pin and go through the mouth hole you'll run into it. If you push too hard you'll dislodge it. I've done that before trying to figure a way to 'drip' with a syringe without removing the cart... ;-)

You have the squished 0 version? I don't think there's anything to dislodge in the D's. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I can't see anything. They're designed differently from the round carts (obviously, but internally as well).

So you are using 901 flat tips on your 510?

They're marketed as 510 flat tips on Eastmall, but some people claim that they're just 901's. Dunno. There's no internal "cart". The cart is the mouthpiece. Don't know if that helps, but others seem to have encountered up to 3 different versions of the "510 flat tip" so I can't really say since I only have the 510.

I have both the 0 version which I'm not sure which part you'd be referring to as 'squished' (ok, I think you just mean that it's a O squished to more like a 0 shape flat on the sides where the air channels are - well, like any other 510 cart :) . The actual whistle tip of the 0 version is wider vertically by over a third but less than half, than the D version. And I prefer the 0 version - I like the feel and it's a bit more substantial for holding in your teeth (not that you can't do it with the other one.

The D version I have is again, narrower vertically and the cartride is D shaped with the air channel that is cut just above the point where the atomizer casing would .... against the edge of the cartridge/mouthpiece, Iow, it isn't one that you describe where the air channel is at the same level as the top of the cart.

Like all 510 carts there is a 'floor of the cartridge itself' that holds the filler and keeps the filler from going completely to the bottom of the mouthpiece - it is also what keeps juice from going straight through the mouthpiece hole, where you draw. I think what I did when I pulled the filler to clean it, that because the bottom of the filler material was glued to that plate that I dislodged that plate from where it is wedged in, and as a result, that opened up a 'path' for juice to go to the mouth piece hole. I tried to find the original spot of the floor plate but it wouldn't stay there. Had they not glued the filler material to that plate, I wouldn't have had the problem.

I've just taken them 'out of rotation' and am using the ones I got from dietsmokes and ecigexpress. The D ones from eastmall are in a larger box with blue writing - 'mini cigarette' atomized cartridge - which it is not, so I'm guessing they just grabbed those boxes for the flat tips.

I just got the adaptever and switched to the 510 attys planning to use my 901 carts with them. Unfortunately, while they do fit, they fit really really really tight. So tight that to take them out I have to take the atomizer off the battery mod for fear of ripping something loose. I like the feel of the flat mouthpieces better, but not being able to take them off easily to top off or drip is a PITA. Any suggestions?

I tried both round and whistle tip carts for the 510. I had to keep a lot of pressure on my teeth to hold the whistle tip in my mouth. I did not like having to rotate the whistle tip just right so I could easily push the button on the battery. I missed the round tip's extra protection from juice getting in my mouth.

I could not tell the difference in vapes. After two months of use, I believe that good vapes come from an atomizer that gets really hot and a fresh battery--and little to do with much else.

510 whistle tips? Don't waste your time or money.

What's the difference between flat tips and whistle tips? I was under the impression that they're the same thing. I have what you're describing. I got them from Eastmall and have heard that they're really for the 901. I pull out the filler and take out the glue right away though. They're a little bit snug compared to the round tips when fitting into the atomizer, but I feel like that's a good thing.

The 901 flat tips feel the same as the white/yellow plastic flat tip on a small cigar. My initial impression of them was a lot better than whistle tips. But I admit they haven't seen a lot of use lately. I like my 510, and the standard round cartridge for the 510.

The 901's were for my wife, and she ain't seeing the advantages of vaping--went back to analogs :(

So I don't much care anymore about the 901, but I was happy to see the glue in the 901 cart. Without it, when topping off, the 901 cart filler would stick to the bridge. I'd certainly want to replace the glue if I were preparing the carts for their second time around.
