I received my Volcano Magma kit yesterday with drip tip configuration (going to purchase the tank accessories on pay day.) Got a battery charged up this morning, put my atty on and then my drip tip...dripped 3 drops of blue punch juice through the drip tip, blew two quick blows to get any access that might have dripped down the side of the drip tip, etc and then tried it out!

I got nothing but a very strong burn taste and a huge burn hit in the back of my throat that basically made me gag lol. I tried inhaling with one big inhale and then I also tried with smaller/slower inhales...both ways produced the same results...definitely not matching up to the vid instructions on their site.

So I've removed the drip tip from the atty, dripped a few more drips directly onto the atty, put the drip tip back on the atty and now I'm just letting it sit and rest for a while...thinking maybe the atty needs to soak in the liquid? It said nothing about this in the manual but I wasn't sure what else to do.

Can anyone comment on this? I hate when things don't work right up front.

P.S. Here is the assembly and instruction vid on their site: http://www.volcanoecigs.com/magma-drip-tutorial Followed it to the T!

Most new atties usually have some foul tasting primer on them. Some more some less. Some atties might actually be bone dry.

With some plain old PG or your e-liquid, just over load your new atty the first time, 6+ drops, let it sit a few seconds then blow it out firmly (from the top, off your battery of course).

This should help clear any primer and 'equalize' the liquid distribution internally. Also note atties take a bit to actually break in and operate at their peak, a day at least.

Put a condom from a carto on the bottom threaded end, fill Atty up above the bridge, let it soak for 15 min or so then blow it out and start to drip, this will prime the internals of the Atty properly. If you dont do this you may burn the wick badly and your vape flavors wont taste the same as if you prime the Atty, once that wick is burnt its just not the same. Prime them !

Can you explain what the "bridge" is? Also won't I be wasting a lot of juice this way?

So I want to fill the cart up just under the metal top hat portion? What will happen to all the juice? I don't want to waste it. I did some youtube viewing of the bridge to I get what that is now (apparently it's some metal 4 sided piece under the top hat of the metal mesh.

But again pouring that much juice in the thing to fill that up to soak that seems like a huge waste of juice if I can't use it.

Thanks for the tip! I've had terrible luck with atomizers, most likely because I did not prime them properly. The advice I had followed was to drip 6 drops, then 5, then 4, etc. and it would take forever to get the thing to work. Yesterday I got 4 attys in the mail and today I have one that works. So I have 5 more on order and I can't wait to try your method.

After yesterday's failure I was planning on giving up vaping until I read this. I thought that it was the atomizers that were faulty, but most likely I did not prime them properly and burnt the wick.
