Would some patient soul walk me through how to drip?

I've searched. I've read. I'm still not doing it right.

I'm using the atty and drip tip I got with a Joye 510 on my eGo T battery. Screw atty on. Drip like 3 full drops, from the bottle, onto the bridgey bit of the atty. Put the drip tip on.

*gurgle gurgle* Yep, I flooded it.

Blow it out. Start over, using smaller drops- like 3 scant drops from the bottle.

*gag spit* Mmmm dry burn. :glare:

I can't seem to find the sweet spot between the two. WTF am I doing wrong? Is it just practice? I really have tried quite a number of times. And I haven't really managed anything other than flood and/or dry burn.

Also, are you supposed to, like, actually drip straight into the drip tip? I'm not- I take it off, then (try) dripping, then put it back on.

And, what is the purpose of the cart that comes with the atty? Can you use it for something other than just dripping, then sticking the thing back on so you don't burn yourself?

I'm sure this is all pretty basic but I'm feeling a bit clueless... sorry!

It took me what seemed like forever to get the hang of dripping! It is definitely worth figuring out, so please don't get discouraged, there is a learning curve with everything vaping-related thing I've tried to do. When you have a "clean" atty and you drip, wait a minute or so for gravity to get the juice down into the atty. I have found that a 306 atty with a clear Cannon drip tip from Cherry Vapes works well, because these attys need to be keep very wet, and the clear tip makes it much easier to see what's going on in there. The 306 has an exposed bridge, and the clear Cannon drip tip is very easy to drip with, the liquid won't pool at the top of the tip, which I have found happens with a lot of drip tips. But for now, one trick I'd recommend trying is after you've dripped through the drip tip, just briefly blow down into it to force the juice down. If you are using juice with a higher PG content, I find that it tends to leak more than a higher VG juice, so drip sparingly but often.

Totally. I always blow through it and check the tip to make sure I dont have juice all over it. yuck. I know i shouldnt but i always mess it up while driving. I picked my son up from his moms and he says...you smell like syrup lol

Aaaaah. So there's patience involved! I tried it again and waited a bit and- whoa. It worked! I see why people like this. Intense flavor is intense!

Thanks guys! I was just not waiting long enough after dripping. Now, I'll see if I can do it with the drip tip still on and actually, y'know, working as a drip tip and not just a cartridge cover, haha.

Also i noticed that if, its more difficult to get a good hit and i know theres juice in there, sometimes the battery has juice on it and i wipe it out and the atty connecter and walla nice hit again

I just take old pen caps and cut them into drip tips, sand them down to make them look halfway decent.
They do the same thing, stick in snug and allow you to drip.
i drilled out some emptycarts on my first ecig lol! but a metal drip tip is only $2.50 usually unless you have a ton of pvs to buy for...its worth it. pen caps is a cool idea looks like a pen Thats really stealth vaping!

That's what I like about my drip-carto, I plugged the base and virtually no fluid gets into the battery. Of course, use with an auto batt would be nearly impossible...

See image - blue being the carto, yellow the plastic sleeve, orange the piece of plug.
(image proportions not quite to scale)

...however, I've been thinking a squeeze bulb type of apparatus could be slipped over the tip of an auto to activate it that way...

Practise makes it perfect. I have a drip tip and direct dripping is my number one technique! I used to take off the tip and drip directly onto the atty so I don't get the liquid all over my PV. But now I can do it without taking anything off easily. I usually only put 2 drops and vape until it starts to taste a bit burnt. Thats the sign that the atty has dried out and you need to put 2 more drops in. I dont recommend putting more than 2 in as it might flood the atty, which is why you're getting this gurgling sound. It still happens to me sometimes haha. But just practise and you'll get familiar with how your PV behaves :)
