what is the difference between dripping and refilling??

Dripping is dripping eliquid directly on the atomizer bridge/metal mesh. Not recommended for auto batteries as it could get into the switch and short it out. With manual sealed batteries this is one method preferred by some to get the best flavor and vapor. One - three drops is all that is needed - any more may flood the atomizer. Some that drip either use no cartridge and draw right from the open atomizer chamber (known as tailpiping) and others use a blank empty shipping mouthpiece that has no filler in it.

Refilling is simply refilling the cartridge with eliquid and letting that atomizer heat up the liquid from the cartridge rather than that dripped on the bridge.

When refilling I put two drops on the atty and fill the cartridge.
