Drip Tip Too Big

So, an awesome carbon fiber drip tip came in the mail today, and as I was going to put it on my Subtank Nano, I noticed that the base of the tip is just a little bit too tall. There is about a 2mm gap between the bottom of the tip and the top of the tank. Is there any way to fix this? Would I be able to sand down the base of the tip a bit to get it to go in all the way?

Can you post a pic of what you're asking about? If I'm understanding you right you might be able to sand some material off the base of the drip tip but leave enough room for that gasket to seat...I did this once on a tip that was too long for my zenith...

is the drip tip to long ???

or is the cavity in the NANO tank to shallow ????

try other tips to see how they fit

I've seen where that was an issue (shallow cavity) in the big Subtank

but heard they have fix'd it...

if you find out others fit OK, sand down the CF tip to suit your needs JMO

It's the shallow cavity. Others fit fine, but this one is just a bit too long. I'm gonna sand it.

so it's not the nano well, it's the new cf tip (too long)

If you do sand it, wet sand it if it is really carbon fiber and clean thoroughly after. You don't want to inhale any of the dust...

I have heard 2 oring dt don't fit the sub tanks. This might be why yours don't fit. I think I saw it in a review.

It was one of those with a stainless steel base and a carbon fiber middle section. I sanded the SS down just until it was perfect and it fits like a glove now. Thanks everyone!

As someone that watched Beavis and Butthead a lot when I was young, this one and the expired cotton balls made me think of a few "he said ....huh huh huh huh."
