I never drip through the DT. Depending on the rda, I either remove the DT or the top cap. For example, I remove the DT on my Omega; I remove the top cap on my Magma.
Depends entirely on the drip tip - some are simply too small a bore for it to work - and the device you are dripping into - as to whether that works very well or not. So there is no appropriate answer to your poll as stated.
it depends..
on my favorite drippers origens as I don't drip that often I like to take the time, remove the cap and soak the wick and fill the deck perfectly, then I'm good for a couple of hours..
on the rest of my drippers I drip through the driptip using wide bores
I would never remove the drip tip in order to drip.
If my drip was too narrow to drip through, I'd throw it in the trash.
If I was using some kind of equipment that needed me to remove the tip to drip, I'd throw that in the trash too.
All of my RBAs have wide bore drip tips on them and I drip through them. I have occassionally eyed the longer, bent drip tip that would be 'cool' to use, but a nightmare to drip through, so I have never actually bought one.
That's why it's called a drip tip, who am I to question those who came before me? If it was meant to be removed in order to drip, it would have been called a take-off tip.
Always take the top off so I can see the cotton and prevent making a mess, but I don't build really hot coils so I generally just vape straight off the RDA top cap and don't use a drip tip at all. Fits better in my pocket too.
