Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Or maybe I'm just a spoiled cartomizer user?

Got my eGo today...but not my KR adapter for all my cartomizers...(that will arrive tomorrow, woohoo!)

Anyway I'm really liking the way the eGo looks. And I like the draw. So far, so good. I tried out the cartridge, followed the instructions on breaking in the atomizer (first time atty user here)..dripped some drops on the wick, etc., yadda blah. But the vape-duration of this method absolutely stinks! I'd be "dripping" all day if this were my only vaping measure. Seriously, I take 5 drags and I have to drip some more because the liquid runs out. No way Jose.

Is this typical?

I am a heavy vaper, this is true. But how folks do this even in moderation is beyond me. Unless your hands are free to tote around bottles of liquid and constantly mess with your e-cig all day......no, really?

Someone, tell me I'm wrong, that I'm missing some trick. I realize my kit-inclusive cartridges are super tiny, and I'm aware of "mega atomizers" and cartridges. Do these help?

If not, thank goodness for adapters. I might just have to try out 501 cartomizers for my eGo as well.

Yes, I will admit that is true 5card. I also neglected to mention that "dripping" certainly intensified the flavor of my liquids. I tried 2 different flavors that I wasn't particularly crazy about in the cartomizers, and I couldn't believe the flavor difference.

So yes, those are pro's. The vapor production is equally as good with VaporNine cartomizers though. (love those!)

I started dripping just recently. Pretty much because I've grown tired of messing around constantly with carts to get them "working."

I drip 2 drops of liquid, and get 4 to 6 good draws before I repeat. For carrying juice, I have some 3ml plastic dropper bottles, I can carry two or three around in my pocket, and not even know they are their.

I wonder myself, because soon I will have some egos too. I think the larger cartridges will definitely help. There are also 'expert' wicks that are real long.

Did you order some drip tips as well? I think those are mouthpieces designed to make dripping a lot easier too. ...Oh, and then I'm also starting to hear about people removing the wick and the bridge support on their strictly-dripping atomizers.

I like 3 piece ecigs too, I now have tried both the 2 and the 3 piece. I think that dripping is very cost effective and you can get real good flavor and awesome clouds. Even a plain drop of CVS usp glycerin works in my atomizer. Things like that would have ruined my cartomizers right away, but not on the 3rd-piece-style atomizer. Finally, the good thing about the ego is that it's manual, and not very easy to ruin the battery with juice.

Yeah thats the downside of dripping but it takes no time at all to redrip so its really not a 'downside' for me. I just found it easier than messing with carts and fillers and it ran out too soon and the mess..ugh..lol - but I've heard 510 cartos are nice for out n about and you have the option to get some of those too.

I drip exclusively and can't stand using carts. Yeah, there's more to mess with, and that certainly seems to be a deal-breaker for some folks. If I have a freshly blown-out atty, I put 5 drops in (I use 510 atties, btw). After about 3 drags I'll add 3 more drops. I get a few hits then add 3 drops at a time as needed. I tend to keep the atty pretty wet which creates that nice gurgly sound. Some people don't seem to like this and there can be a bit of leakage if you aren't careful. 4 drops is definitely asking for a leak around the bottom of the atty. I think keeping it so wet may help to extend the life of atties too. I have a few that are several months old and going strong. Flavor and vapor are the best this way in my opinion. It is easy to tell when it is time to add more because the flavor changes to harsh, almost burnt. 3 more drops is the instant cure.

I think it depends on what you are seeing as the highest priority. If you want ease of use, yeah dripping probably isn't it. Using some kind of drip tip instead of the standard cart certainly makes life easier though. If you are more about the thick vapor clouds and flavor, a tad more maintenance and carrying a juice bottle around may not be too much of an inconvenience.

I have tried carts and carto's blue foam and fluval etc etc etc. Nothing is really simpler than using a drip tip. If I drove a lot I would probably go back to the blue foam mod. As it is I just load up four 510 atties before I go and it's plenty for the longest drive I make (about an hour) however, there are times when I go weeks without driving.

I am also one of those guys who removes the bridge and drips directly onto the coil. I run 5 volts as well. I guess it's just different for everyone. Out of the 8 friends that I have converted I am still the only one who drips only. However, they are always commenting or asking about the huge amount of vapor I get and when they try mine they love the flavor. I honestly have no idea how people can be happy with the kr808 but TONS of people love them. I guess it's like smoking everyone had their own thing going on and that was half the fun. Although way back in the day (grade school) it seemed like it was marlboros, kools or lucky strikes/pall malls. Depending on what your parents smoked.

This is more or less the same way I drip. Blow out the atty, 5 drops to prime it, a couple of drags, then 2 drops, few drags until the taste starts to change, 2 more drops, etc. The eGo is the same as a 510 atty just on a better battery. If you are going to drip, buying a drip tip for a 510 would really simplify things on an eGo. Dripping takes a little practice, don't be discouraged if it's tricky at first.

Personally I've never understood how anyone can think dripping is more work than cartomizers.

Yes obviously you have to pop the cart off (unless you're smart enough to get a T-tip in which case you can skip that step) and drip on a fairly regular basis rather than just pop a cartomizer on and go for x number of hours before changing it. But it only takes about 3 seconds to drip. If you don't switch flavors too often you only need to carry one or two bottles of liquid with you which is no different than carrying extra cartomizers along.

However in the bigger picture of things....

Cartomizer users need to clean, dry, refill, label?(to remember what liquid bottles they filled their cartos from), and store their cartomizers. All of that together can take up quite a bit of time.

Drippers (me personally) take 15 seconds to dry burn an atty when I'm done using it. Take 15 seconds to rinse my T-tip every night before bed. The end.

To me dripping is not only much easier and more convenient but also a much more satisfying flavorful way to vape.

But that's just my opinion.

What is a T tip, for those of us learning? is there a handy pic?
Are you talking about a dripping tip?

I don't even need to blow the atomizer. If I see gunk, and it's time to put it away, I simply burn it off with my 5v PT, with a few short draws, and then it's ready for the next day. I hope this doesn't shorten its life, it seems to be working fine so far.

I really do not get it.
Everyone keeps saying 4 or 5 drags and drip again.
I use vg and drip 3 drops and vape for a good 15 or more minutes before redripping

edit: unless everyone is using high voltage mods. I prefer 280mah batteries and 2.3 ohms atty's

I tried dripping, and found the hits to be very good; like you, I really couldn't be bothered with constantly putting more in.

What I ended up doing was cutting the silicon cap and super-gluing it into the top of the cart, cutting a circle of reasonable size and filling it to the top with liquid. In a tornado mega cart, that's a lot of liquid! I'll probably use about two full carts on an average day, maybe three - but the hits are as good as dripping.
