Dripping tastes like plastic!

I got an ego a few weeks ago and am used to using cartomizers but wanted to try dripping, but I've found that no matter what liquid I use I get the taste of plastic. Is this from the plastic drip tip? I have two atomizers and they both taste the same like plastic. Should I try a metal drip tip? Any help would be appreciated.

I think it's unlikely to be the drip tip. Drip tips aren't near enough to the coil to melt or really get any hotter than luke warm under normal conditions. The Joye 306 drip tips can get hot during heavy use, because the design of that atomizer means the drip tip has to fit right over the body. But I've never experienced temperatures that would cause the tip to melt on these either, or tasted burning plastic. Running the atomizer continuously for a few minutes would probably do it, but that is hardly normal operating conditions! You can try a metal tip of course, but I don't think that is the issue. I find them a bit cold on the lips, and for that reason prefer the plastic ones but its personal preference.

I think the issue is most likely to be "new atomizer taste" which is primer fluid, plus whatever residues are left over from manufacture.
